Today, plagiarism has become one of the most critical and debatable aspects of academic and scientific research. While writing research papers, articles, dissertations and theses researchers use many information sources, print, digital, online information since long. In the process it become quite difficult to remember the ideas taken by reading others. works and use them without citing or without attributing original research. Later they come to know that they have plagiarized in ignorance. Copying text, using other.s ideas, paraphrasing one.s own ideas, text citing without references etc are treated as a form of plagiarism. In the time of internet and availability of only print resources can make things critically crucial since copy and paste is quite common. It is important that researcher should know permission of copying or referring number of words in a sentence from earlier published resources and to know amount of plagiarism being commonly allowed. Many researchers have been found using his/her similar ideas in different papers by recycling their own words which is known as self-plagiarism. Although, various academic institutions have already started making students and faculty aware about the plagiarism but a constructive approach is still needed to define plagiarism and non-plagiarism issues in detail. Some institutions have already come up with the plagiarism policy for themselves. Many of the institutions are using various tools to deal with plagiarism. The librarian can also play an important role in making students/faculty aware about the various critical issues to combat plagiarism such as, what to cite, when to cite and how to cite information during their research work. The paper throws light on background of plagiarism, its impact, consequences, tools, and some efforts to combat it.

Along with the teaching, publications and research output, national and international funding has become essential criterion for benchmarking and performance measurement of the university. To stand and compete with stakeholders, it is essential to carefully monitor the impact of university publication over global research. The role of the library becomes more important to take a lead in monitoring and management of the university publications. A library needs to gather, organize and maintain publication in a standard format and take appropriate measure to disseminate research with global community. Further, it is essential to assess the research impact of the publication through different methodologies such as bibliometrics or web metrics. The purpose of this paper is to develop a database of university publication with the acronym 'JPubDB' (JUIT Publication Database: available at http://juit. ac.in/jpubdb), in order to cpllect, analyse and organised at one place and market the research publication with global community. The provisions have been made to link each publication with each faculty profile and department in a standard citation style, assess the citation count through Google Scholar, sharing of publication through social networking tools, and if the full text of any publication is available, that can be downloadable in copyright free mode.

After the approval of NDA or ANDA, the applicant may make post approval changes, provided the changes are reported to the FDA under the appropriate categories. Section 506 A of the Federal Food, Drugs and Cosmetics act and 21 CFR 314.70 provide for three reporting categories of the post approval changes namely: major change, moderate change and minor change. There are many reasons for making changes to pharmaceutical products after the original regulatory approval is obtained. Company change control procedures should detail how changes are evaluated and implemented as well as how the change impacts stability and what data will be needed to support the change. The regulatory group will determine the strategy for submission based on a review of the technical assessment of the change and the appropriate regulatory guidance.

Automation efforts in libraries have moved from standalone database systems to cloud-based systems, traversing generations of library management system (LMS) and integrated library management system (ILS) in between. This paper attempts to traverse this transition with emphasis on present-day technological state-of-affairs in the libraries. The traditional terminologies vis-a-vis the cloud associated architecture has been touched upon. The paper introduces library specific tenant- based software services over the cloud architecture and also the associated maturity model. Apart from ILS, other facets of library automation have been talked upon with examples from libraries providing such aggregation or dissemination services The paper lays special emphasis on library service platforms in use in India. An internet search was done to locate the cloud- based library software in use and thereafter a listing of major vendors and providers promoting these software were made. Questionnaires were sent to such vendors and exploratory study was conducted to overcome the non-respondent bias and the usage statistics extracted. Koha was found to be the most common open source in use over the cloud through a paid support from three of the eleven vendors in India. Only two clouds- enabled proprietary software are available at present, e-Granthalaya and Cybrarian<^>T

In the present study an attempt was made to generate cadastral base from high resolution satellite image (LISS IV) and to integrate with land use land cover information. The digital cadastral map with survey number for Kolathupalayam village in Erode district of Tamil Nadu was scanned, digitized and parcels were extracted. Similarly parcels or field boundaries were digitized and extracted from satellite image and were statistically compared by area. The area obtained from both the source through digitization correlated well with a pearson correlation of 0.87 and it was significant at 5 per cent. Thus, the area comparisons from both methods are significant indicating boundaries of individual fields generated from satellite image matched well with the one generated from cadastral map. The cadastral base generated from satellite image was overlaid on the classified image (level III output) to identify and generate land cover information against each survey number. Thus, the LISS IV data can be used for the identification and extraction of cadastral boundaries with good accuracy.

Discovery service in libraries has gained momentum in recent years owing to the influence of search giants like Google. Library users are expecting one search solution in similar lines with Google search engine to retrieve information from different sources, viz., library catalogue, bibliographic and full text databases, open access resources, etc. To meet this demand, new age discovery tools such as Summon and Knimbus have emerged and libraries are increasingly subscribing to such services to maximise use of electronic resources. There are also some open source tools, but their deployment is not widely seen in libraries. In this paper an attempt has been made to explain, how Google Custom Search Engine (GCSE) can be used as discovery service for subscribed, un-subscribed and open access resources.

This conceptual paper reviews literature on marketing of library products and services, and discusses various ways and means for the same. Several marketing techniques to promote the usage of library resources and services have been highlighted in the literature. It is seen that majority of libraries do not have a marketing culture. It is recognised that libraries need to formulate marketing plan along with financial budget on a yearly basis so that library resources can be utilised optimally. Libraries in developing countries have been struggling to conduct outreach programmes to market their resources and services. Latest technologies such as, Web 2.0 and mobile services have opened up new avenues to do marketing in efficient and cost effective ways. Therefore, libraries should not leave any stone unturned to apply the latest technologies in promotion of resources and services amongst the stakeholders. The funding agencies must formulate guidelines for marketing the library resources and services so that the library resources can be utilised optimally.

Collnet J Scientomet Inf Mgmt 2016, 10(1), 21-40.
Methods for ranking authors of research publications generally attach equal value to all citations obtained for the publications. The Page Rank algorithm can be applied by treating each paper as a page and a citation as a link to bring out the differential values of citations thereby overcoming this limitation. However, the twin problems of ranking of papers and ranking of authors cannot be treated separately. In this article, we present a novel Author Ranking Algorithm that interleaves the ranking of papers and authors. The algorithm puts into practice the idea that an author's rank is determined by the quality or rank of papers which cite him while the ranks of the papers in turn depend on the quality of its authors. Further, this algorithm also considers collaborative contribution by factoring in the ranks of co-authored papers. We illustrate the algorithm by applying it to an author citation network consisting of authors who published their works on Web Semantics in the year 2013-2014. We also show how this algorithm is different from previous adaptations of Page Rank for ranking of authors.

Collnet J Scientomet Inf Mgmt 2016, 10(1), 41-70.
The evaluation of journals based on their influence is of interest for numerous reasons. Various methods of computing a score have been proposed for measuring the scientific influence of scholarly journals. Typically the computation of any of these scores involves compiling the citation information pertaining to the journal under consideration. This involves significant overhead since the article citation information of not only the journal under consideration but also that of other journals for the recent few years need to be stored. Our work is motivated by the idea of developing a computationally lightweight approach that does not require any data storage, yet yields a score which is useful for measuring the importance of journals. In this paper, a regression analysis based method is proposed to calculate Journal Influence Score. Proposed model is validated using historical data from the SCImago portal. The results show that the error is small between rankings obtained using the proposed method and the SCImago Journal Rank, thus proving that the proposed approach is a feasible and effective method of calculating scientific impact of journals.
