Opinion about Average time required for Receiving Books under Inter-Library Loan and Overall Satisfaction of Inter-Library Loan Services is discussed and found that 10% of the users are strongly satisfied with the service followed by 10% of users satisfied with the services and the remaining 80% of the users are not satisfied with this service.

This paper highlights quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on Fuel Cell publication output as per INIS (1970-2008) database. During 1970-2008 a total of 3435 publications were published by the scientists in the field 'Fuel Cell'. The average number of publications published per year was 88.07. The highest numbers of publications 452 were published in 2004. The spurt in the literature output was reported during 1992-2008. There were 86 countries involved in research in this field. USA is the top producing country with 509 publications (17.56%) followed by Japan with 357 publications (12.31%). Authorship and collaboration trend was towards multi-authored publications. Intensive collaboration was found during 1994-2008. There were 321 international collaborative publications. Bilateral collaboration accounted for 89.72 percent of total collaborative publications. Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, Dalian (China) topped the list with 80 publications. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (India) was the most productive Indian institution with 37 papers. Journals were the most preferred document type preferred by the scientists. The most preferred journals by the scientists were: Electrochimica Acta with 343 publications and Energy Conversion and Management with 54 publications. English was the most predominant language used by the scientists for communication. The high frequency keywords were: Fuel Cells (1162), Hydrogen (404), proton exchange membrane fuel cells (347), electrolytes (295).

Furthermore, the level of awareness and use of e-journals as well as preferred format of journals by the users were discussed in this paper.

Data was collected through physical verification of both primary and secondary sources of information. This data set was analyzed using various bibliographic characteristics. The findings show the increase in the literature bio-fuel since 1971 and USA, the leading country in undertaking Bio-fuel research. Most of the literature comes from Bio-diesel and Alcohol fuel. The geographical distribution shows that USA and India arc the leading contributors to this literature.

Marketing is beneficial to libraries because an effective marketing programme can help the library to create competitive advantage through the development of new services or changes of the existing ones to satisfy their users better; improvement of their organizational status and image to different stakeholders; and there by improve their performance in general This paper attempts to study the application of marketing mix variables (4P's), the degree of marketing orientation and the users attitude towards the marketing applications of the university libraries in Kerala The data for the study collected from a sample of 842 users of the university libraries in Kerala such as Kerala University Library (KUL), Mahatma Gandhi University Library (MGUL), Cochin University of Science and Technology Library (CUSATL) and CH Mohammed Koya Library of University of Calicut (CHMKL). The study found that university libraries in Kerala have moderate degree of marketing orientation with respect to the marketing mix variables. It is indeed in the university libraries in Kerala to initiate new information services and products suitable for the different user groups. From the analysis of the marketing elements viz. product, place, price and promotion, it is observed that university libraries in Kerala needs better promotional activities. A separate marketing division with skilled staff with a marketing plan is desirable to make the marketing activities more efficient and effective.

All children in a community have a right to access the information through the public libraries. The objective of this study is to judge the existing facilities and services offered to children in the public libraries in Chandigarh and to determine the individual characteristics and use behaviour of the child-member. For collecting data the survey method is used and the present study is carried out in those public libraries that have separate children's section. The study shows that percentage of the children that are utilising the library facilities and services are less as compared with other categories. But public libraries are putting in lots of efforts to encourage the children to come in the library.

The present study attempts to find out the use pattern of various conventional as well as internet resources by the research scholars of all the faculties of the University of Jammu. It has been found that most of the research scholars use the internet for research purpose. Among all the internet resources, on line search is preferred by less than half of the scholars on once in a day basis. Slow speed of access was identified as the major problem while surfing internet. As compared to conventional resources internet resources are easy to Use, time saving, more informative and more useful. But in spite of all these advantages of internet resources over conventional resources, print resources are still preferred by the scholars. No doubt more number of research scholars claim that their frequency of using conventional resources has decreased after using internet resources but a considerable percentage of research scholars say the frequency has increased and for some of them there is no change in the use of print resources.

Presents findings of the study of socio-economic status, use of electronic media and benefits derived from the use of these media by rural community in Gulbarga District, Karnataka State, India. Per capita income of 88% of the study population is less than Rs.20,000/- which is less than the national and State per capita income. Television and Radio are the most frequently used electronic media by more than 90% of them, mainly for entertainment purpose. While Cell Phone is used by 78%, use of Internet is restricted to only 12%. Major benefits of electronic media are improvement in social life and general knowledge. Findings indicate that electronic media has played a marginal role in rural development. Television and Radio need to play a major role, not only as entertainers and news providers, but also as facilitators of local change and rural development. Capabilities of cell phone need to be used extensively to provide region specific information through SMS. Internet can play a greater role in rural development, if it is accessible to them at affordable cost, in their locality, in local language.

This study is based on 5,112 author-assigned 'Associated keywords' culled out from 1,238 research papers selected from eleven different journals of physics published by American Institute of Physics. The research papers from each issue have been chosen by the method of random sampling. All these keywords have been formed from 10,156 single words and/or keywords through 6,718 contextual relationships. The keywords assigned by the respective authors of the concerned articles have only been taken for study, but no keyword was collected from anywhere of any article by either of the Authors of this paper in order to avoid biasness. It has been mathematically established that the formation of 'Associated keywords' from single words and/or keywords depends on contextual relationships exist among different single words and/or keywords. The name given to contextual relationship is 'Alliance potential', and a new parameter has been defined to measure the rate of keyword formation per unit 'Alliance potential'. The name given to this new parameter is 'Associated keyword formation coefficient' or AKFC. This parameter remains constant for a particular journal and varies over different journals. The constancy of AKFC for ten physics journals has been verified and this has been manifested as a characteristic feature of a journal belonging to a specific subject domain.

The study identified factors which influenced the choice of career and whether they are satisfied with their career. Absolute majority respondents reported that they were satisfied with their career in librarianship. The paper concludes with suggestions to measure the perception on the image of Library and Information Science, academic learning in terms of content and relevance for LIS professional and competencies and skills required of all LIS professionals.

CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) Jamshedpur established its institutional repository - Eprints@NML in September 2009. The study looks at the use of the repository based on the repository log data. It was found that NML Scientists received 1847 enquires for their articles/projects until September, 2012 which motivated them further to enrich the repository by uploading their research outputs. As a result, by the end of September 2012 there were 5071 uploads as against 3972 documents uploaded in December 2011. A total of 27, 40,343 hits were received from different countries during August 2011 to September 2012 and a cumulative total of over 4.86 million hits since inception. The maximum number of hits was 0.27 million in August, 2012. More than 75% of NML scientists/researchers have registered with Eprints@NML for uploading their documents. Before establishment of Visva Bharati Granthan Vibhaga (VBGV) in 1923, Rabindranath Tagore's writings were published by his friends and family members and Adi Brahmasamaj Jantra (Press of Brahmasamaj, Calcutta). Rabindranath (1861-1941) received the Nobel Prize for Citanjali (Song Offerings) in 1913 which is a collection of poems from different kavyagrantha (book of poems). Copyright of Rabindranath Tagore's works given to Visva-Bharati expired in December 2001. Private publishers have been free to publish the writings of Rabindranath Tagore since then. The present paper is an attempt to assess the quality of publication of Gitanjali published by private publishers before establishment of VBGV and after expiry of copyright. It is observed that a small portion of Bengali publishers are publishing Gitanjali at a lower price but with good number of mistakes. Pre-VBGV publications also have mistakes.

Bibliographic details of 1076 research articles obtained from the annual reports of Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI) were studied and it was found that the highest number of 169 papers was published in the year 2006 and the average number of publications per year was 97.82. Most of the contributions were multi authored (87.68%). The degree of collaboration of scientists of CTCRI was 0.87 and most of the articles published by the scientists were in the foreign journals (51.89%). Journal of Root Crop spublished by Indian Society of Root Crops tops the list with the highest number of articles 125 (39.30%). Applicability of Bradford's Law in the journal distribution pattern of the CTCRI scientists does not fit the Bradford's distribution patter.

Study uses a structured questionnaire to gather information on librarians' perception towards monetary and non-monetary incentives in university libraries in Nigeria. Questionnaires were distributed to 45 librarians in the selected university libraries through the use of simple random sampling techniques to understand the attitude of librarians towards monetary and non-monetary incentives. The findings revealed that librarians are aware of both monetary and non-monetary incentives and that majority of the librarians benefited from monetary incentives. Motivation, job satisfaction and increase in organizational commitment are some of the benefits librarians derive from monetary and non-monetary incentives. Recommendations include linking of reward directly to performance and the need to pay reasonable salary and wages to librarians in order to make them more effective.

Study, through a questionnaire survey, investigates library patronage by faculties of Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho, Nigeria. Three hundred and fifty (350) respondents were selected using stratified random sampling out of a total population of 700 from six faculties. The study revealed that there was significant relationship between library patronage of lecturers and level of awareness. The study also found out that majority of respondents used the library very frequently and most of the respondents used the library daily for class preparation, to seek information for general knowledge and specific interest. The study identified unavailability and inaccessibility of current information materials, poor reference and document delivery services etc as barriers to library patronage.

The authorship pattern of the citations shows, 30.60% of contributions are from two authors. There are ten different types of source documents citing the authors in these Volumes. Among the publishing countries of source journals, 102 journals of Indian origin stood first in the rank. Bradford's Law of Scattering was proved. Half-life period of journals and books found to be 12 years and 16 years respectively. The study reveals Remote Sensing and allied field specialists frequently refer journals as a main source of information.
