Sets out a procedure of sequential sampling for inspection and discussion on how to improve the sequential sampling procedure and derives a sample and a convenient method. It obtains an efficient method to determine whether the medicines and chemical reagents are disabled and presents corresponding conclusions on the basis of a modified sampling method, sampling randomly from the same species of Pharmaceuticals which have not been used and using the results of sampling to judge the efficiency of N - n samples. In addition, a comparison of the performance of sequential sampling with the best leading method shows that the specimen quantum of sequential sampling is much less than the quantum of the accepted method.'

L. van den Dries proved that every o-minimal expansion of a real closed field admits a C<^>r cell decomposition for each positive integer. Non-valuational weakly o-minimal version of it has been proved.

Discusses the heat transfer in MHD visco-elastic fluid flow over stretching sheet for the case of large Prandtl number. The solutions of momentum and heat transfer equations are obtained analytically considering asymptotic expansion. The solutions for temperature profile, heat transfer characteristics and their asymptotic limits for large Prandtl number is obtained in terms of Kummer's function. Similar solutions for the boundary layer equations of a visco-elastic fluid flow over a stretching sheet are presented to obtain the coefficients of skin friction and heat transfer. The magnitude of the non-dimensional surface velocity gradient f"(O) increases with the increasing values of visco-elastic parameter k1. Some results regarding the effects of Ec, Mn and Pr on the dimensionless rate of heat transfer θ'(0) at the surface are listed in table-I, and it is observed from the table that when Ec is small, the value of θ'(0) is negative and decrease with Pr, imply that the heat transfer rate from wall to the fluid increase with Pr. Since the thermal boundary layer thickness decrease with Pr when Ec is large enough. The magnitude of non-dimensional surface temperature gradient θ'(0) increases with the decrease in Pr. An increase in Pr causes reduction in the thickness of the thermal boundary layer and hence asymptotic results of θ'(0) tends to be closer to the exact values as Pr increases.

Two stage stochastic model is developed to study the cancer cell growth. In the beginning a normal clone becomes pre malignant and later it becomes malignant if it takes further proliferation. The size of malignant tumor is heavily influenced by growth kinetics of malignant cell, that make up foci with in the foci. This situation in the tumor growth can be suitably approximated by developing a two stage stochastic model with the assumption that the growth of pre malignant cell, mutation and loss of pre malignant and malignant cells are random and follows Poisson process with different parameters. The joint probability generating function of the number of pre malignant and malignant cells in the tumor at a given time is derived by using the difference deferential equations. The expected number of pre malignant and malignant cells at a given time and their variances are also derived and analysed in the light of the parameters. The expected duration of a malignant cell in the tumor and its variance are derived and analysed.

In inventory management probabilistic models are used whenever the cost structure involves random variables. The demand for a product may be a random variable. Given the inventory holding cost as well as the shortage cost, the problem is to determine the optimal stock or supply assuming that the demand is a random variable. Several authors have attempted various different models under such a structure. Concept of order statistics is used to denote the demand distribution and the optimal reserve inventory size is derived. Numerical illustration is also given.

There are certain situations where the inventory process gets terminated after a finite duration. It implies that the entire inventory on hand has no value after a finite duration. It is called a finite inventory process. The Newsboy problem is one in which the newspaper produced but not sold on same dav has no value, but unsatisfied demand leads to shortage cost also. Demand distribution which satisfies the so called SCBZ property is used to depict the demand for the news papers and the optimal order quantity is derived. Numerical illustration is also provided.

Proves that the prime radical of a semiring R coincides with the set of all strongly nilpotent elements of R. Further proves that if is a surjective homomorphism from a yoked semiring R onto a plain semiring S, there is a one-to-one correspondance between the set of all subtractive prims right (respectively left) ideals of R containing ker (v) and the set of all subtractive prime right (respectively left) ideals of S.

The failure times of the warm standby and primary components are assumed to follow an exponential distribution. When system becomes short, the degraded failure rate is considered. The repair time distributions of the heterogeneous servers are exponentially distributed. The mean time to failure (MTTF) and the steady state availability is obtained by solving the governing differential difference equations for three system configurations: The comparisons of cost/benefit ratio for these configuratfons are made by taking numerical examples.

On non-invariant hypersurfaces of trans-sasakian manifolds

Non-invariant hypersurfaces of a Trans-Sasakian manifold are studied. It is proved that the fundamental 2-form of the induced (f, g, u, v, λ)-structure on the non-invariant hypersurface of a a-Sasakian manifold is closed. A sufficient condition for certain vector field on the hypersurface of a Kenmotsu manifold to be harmonic is given. A necessary and sufficient condition for a totally umbilical non-invariant hypersurface of a Trans-Sasakian manifold to be totally geodesic is proved. It is also proved that on a totally geodesic non-invariant hypersurface with (f, g, u, v, λ)-structure of an alpha-Sasakian manifold, v is Killing. In last, sufficient conditions for the induced (f, g, u, v, λ)-structure on the hypersurface to be normal and quasi-normal are obtained.

Axisymmetric magnetogravitational stability of a fluid cylinder endowed with surface tension has been discussed. The dispersion relation is obtained and discussed. The capillary force m purely destabilizing. The magnetic field has a strong effect for all wavelengths. The selfgravitating force is also destabilizing. However the magnetic field effect reduces the destabilizing character of the model and could overcome the capillary and selfgravitating instability of the model for all short and long wavelengths.

Analytical solutions have been obtained for flow variables under long wave length approximation and closed form expressions have been derived for velocity, volume flux. shear stress and impedance. It is found that impedance increases with magnetic parameter and shear stress does not depend on magnetic parameter.

It is also proved that each transversal hypersurface of -Sasakian manifold admits a Kaehlerian structure. Some properties of transversal hypersurfaces are proved.

Steady flow of a second order thermo-viscous fluid through a long moving straight pipe of circular cross-section under the assumption that the pipe is moving with a given velocity wa is examined. The velocity and temperature distributions are obtained as closed form solutions, involving modified Bessel functions [2] and their profiles are illustrated graphically. The expressions for flow rate, pressure and the dragforce. Nussult number on the boundary are obtained and these are influenced by thermo-viscous parameters. The force generated to sustain the flow is calculated from the equation of motion in transverse direction. The flow (i) under the influence of a constant pressure gradient (with no temperature gradient) (ii) under the influence of a constant temperature gradient (with no pressure gradient) (iii) convective flow inside a circular pipe are investigated as special cases.

Deals with the steady flow of a second order thermo-viscous fluid (A) around and (B) within a sphere of radius `a' rotating about one of its diameters with a small constant angular velocity (Δ). The boundary of the sphere is kept at a constant temperature (θa). while the fluid at infinity is at rest and maintained at a constant temperature (θ∞). The fluid velocity and temperature distributions are obtained by solving analytically the momentum and energy equations using appropriate boundary conditions. The dragforce and the viscous couple on the sphere are calculated. The pressure is calculated and is influenced by the Reiner-Rivlin cross viscosity (μc) The force is generated in the transverse direction due to thermo-stress and thermoªstress-viscous nature of the fluid. This vanishes in the Newtonian case. Lamb. The nussult number is obtained on the boundary of the sphere. The flow due to the rotating sphere in the classical viscous liquid was investigated earlier by Stokes and presented by Lamb. Later Pattabhi Ramacharyulu examined the problem in greater detail when the fluid is second order visco-elastic.

In 1973, Carnahan gave the concept of a θ-set. The concept of θ-Hausdorff space was introduced by Sinharoy and Bandopadhyay in 1995. A characterization of θ-Hausdorff space in terms of 8-sets is obtained which shows that every almost regular Hausdorff space isθ-Hausdorff. This concept was given by A..K. Das in 2005. Authors introduce the concept of pairwise θ-Hausdorff spaces, almost pairwise regular and pairwise θ-set and prove some theorems.
