The numerical values of the skin friction, the rate of heat transfer and the rate of Mass transfer are given in tables.

The Bayes estimators and posterior medians of Reliability R₁ (t₀) and R₂, (t₀) are also derived. The effects of correct and wrong prior information on the Bayes estimates are studied.

Dubey (2004) discussed an almost Grayan manifold equipped with semi-symmetric metric connection while a Kahler manifold equipped with semi-symmetric metric connection has been studied by P.N. Pandey and B.B. Chaturvedi (2007). An algebraic characterization of an almost Hermitian manifold of pointwise constant anti-holomorphic sectional curvature has been obtained by G. Ganchev (1987). A 4-dimensional almost Hermitian manifold of pointwise constant anti-holomorphic sectional curvature was studied by Takuji Sato (2003). Takuji Sato obtained the necessary and sufficient condition for a 4-dimensional almost Hermitian manifold to have pointwise constant anti-holomorphic sectional curvature. The aim of the present paper is to discuss the relation between curvature tensors with respect to a semi-symmetric metric connection and a Riemannian connection in a 4-dimensional almost Hermite manifold. The relation between complexification of curvature tensors with respect to a semi-symmetric metric connection and a Riemannian connection has also been obtained. We have also discussed the self duality and conformally flat case in a 4-dimensional almost Hermitian manifold equipped with semi-symmetric metric connection.

Combined effects of the earth's magnetic field and the solar radiation pressure on the motion and stability of two cable-connected satellites in the earth's central gravitational field of force have been studied. The cable connecting the two satellites is assumed to be a light, flexible non-conducting and extensible in nature. The effects of the earth shadow have been considered during the analysis. The equations of the system have been deduced with respect to the centre of mass, which is assumed to move along a Keplerian elliptical orbit (in particular circular). Hence, a set of non-linear, non-homogeneous and non-autonomous differential equations in a rotating frame of reference as well as in Nechvile's coordinates has been obtained for the motion of the system.

Optimization, a principle of nature and engineering design, in real life problems is normally achieved by using numerical methods. In this article we concentrate on some optimization problems in elementary geometry and Newtonian mechanics. These include Heron's problem, Fermat's principle, Brachistochrone problems, Fagano's problem, geodesies on the surface of a parallelepiped, Fermat/Steiner problem, Kakeya problem and the isoperimetric problem. Some of these are very old and historically famous problems, a few of which are still unresolved. Close connection between Euclidean geometry and Newtonian mechanics is revealed by the methods used to solve some of these problems. Examples are included to show how some problems of analysis or algebra can be solved by using the results of these geometrical optimization problems.

Holomorphic and meromorphic functions of quaternion and octonion variables has been discussed. New classes of quasi-conformal and quasi-meromorphic mappings arc defined and investigated. Properties of such functions such as their residues and argument principle are studied. It is proved, that the family of all quasi-conformal diffeomorphisms of a domain form a topological group relative to composition of mappings. Cases when it is a finite-dimensional Lie group over R are studied. Relations between quasi-conformal functions and integral transformations of functions over quaternions and octonions are established. For this, in particular, noncom-mutative analogs of the Laplace and Mellin transformations are studied and used. Examples of such functions are given. Applications to problems of complex analysis are demonstrated.

Let 0 ≤ r < ∞, G be a compact definable C^r group, X be a compact affine definable C^rG manifold and f be an equivariant definable Morse function on X. We prove that if f has no critical value in [a, 6], then f^-1((-∞, a]) is definably C^rG diffeomorphic to f^-1((-∞, b]). Moreover we prove that the set of equivariant definable Morse functions on X whose critical loci are finite unions of nondegenerate critical orbits is dense in the set of G invariant C^r functions on X with respect to the C^r Whitney topology. Also prove that if G is a compact definable group and X is a definable G manifold, then X is definably G homeomorphic to an open definable G CW complex.

Presence of common cause shock failure in the reliability analysis of a two units system is analyzed. This paper takes care of states dependent rates in case of statistically independent and non-identical two components system. Formulae have been developed for both time dependent and steady state availability and frequency of lethal common cause shock (LCCS) failure as well as non-lethal common cause (NLCCS) failure in addition to individual failure. The Markov model is explored to steady the impact of lethal and non-lethal common cause shock failure on availability and system failure. An inverse Laplace transform is used to solve the simultaneous differential difference equations governing the model. The performances LCCS for both time-dependent and steady state system availability are obtained. Numerical experiments have also been performed to validate the analytical results and examine the sensitivity parameters.

Develops a deterministic inventory model with price-dependent demand rate and two separate warehouses (own warehouse, abbreviated as OW and rented warehouse, abbreviated as RW) to help the decision-maker to know what should be the optimal order quantity and whether to rent RW or not and what shipment policy to adopt if other warehouse is indeed needed. The model is formulated by assuming that the demand rate is a function of selling price, the stock is transferred from RW to OW under a bulk release pattern and the transportation cost is taken to be independent of the transported amount. Shortages are not allowed. Finally, a numerical example is also presented along with sensitivity analysis on the demand parameters.
