Gyarmatis variational principle, a significant development in the field of thermodynamics of irreversible processes, is used to study the thermodynamical effects of viscous dissipation in steady, laminar free and forced convection flow over a non-isothermal vertical flat plate with uniform suction and injection. The velocity and temperature distributions inside their boundary layer are considered as simple polynomial functions and the variational principle is formulated for Prandtl number greater than unity. The Euler-Langrange equations are reduced to coupled polynomial equations in terms of boundary layer thicknesses. The values of heat transfer (Nusselt number) and skin friction (shear stress) are calculated and the effect of viscous dissipation with uniform suction and injection is analysed. The obtained analytical results are compared with known numerical solutions and it shows high order of accuracy.

In the secure multicast systems, many grouping rekeying schemes are presented to promote the system security and performance. The secure filter method is a reasonable solution presented in the previous study. In the scheme, the secure filter is obtained by operating the hash function with all members' secret keys. The method requires less system resources to change the legitimate members. However, the conspiring problem is its main weakness. Therefore, we propose an elliptic curve group rekeying scheme to overcome the weakness. In the proposed scheme, the system is divided to subgroups and the corresponding subgroup keys are used in the scheme in addition to the group key. The sub-elliptic curve filter (SECF) is constructed for each subgroup to cover the subgroup key. A main-elliptic curve filter (MECF) is constructed by all the subgroup keys to cover the group key. Since an extra virtual key is designed to add into each SECF and the MECF, the conspiring problem could be overcome in the design. In addition, the time complexity of the proposed scheme is compared with that of the secure filter method. The results show that the computation complexity of the proposed scheme is less than that of secure filter when a member joins or departs in the corresponding subgroup.

The porous plate and the porous medium are assumed to rotate in a solid body rotation. Analytical expressions for the velocity, temperature and concentration fields are obtained. This study may have some application in geophysics and energy related problem which include natural circulation in isothermal reservoirs, grain storage, extraction of geotherrnal energy and thermal insulation design.

Theoretical solution for heat and mass transfer effects on MHD flow of convection over a continuously moving vertical surface with uniform suction is obtained. A flow of this type represents a new class of boundary-layer flow at a surface of finite length. The solutions for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are obtained. It is observed that the velocity decreases if the magnetic field, thermal Grashof number, solutal Grashof number, Prandtl number, Schmidt number increases. It is also observed that the temperature and concentration decreases if the Prandtl number and Schmidt number increases. The expression for the skin-friction is obtained.

Presents the formulation of a triangular superelement (assembly of 3 simple triangles) based on pure equilibrium method for 2D elastic problems with null body forces. Being strongly inspired by the equilibrium element developed by P. Beckers et al., this element has the effect of having a stress field which satisfies tractions continuity condition along subelements common edges. These interfaces tractions continuity lead to directly obtain a stiffness matrix of the superelement without any spurious kinematics mode. Two examples of numerical applications in which this equilibrium element is compared with standard displacement elements are also presented. The results obtained with these dual analyses confirm the energy bound's theorem.

Statistical methods can be applied to testing software to create an estimate based on a sample of test cases. Often the risk of the software test is assessed based on a predefined loss function only. Introduces a cost C_i, in addition to the loss function, which is associated with each software partition i and represents the cost to execute one test case from that domain. For a given fixed total number of test cases, we present method on how to allocate these test cases among partitions of the software so that it minimizes the expected loss and cost incurred by the Bayes estimator of the overall reliability. Method on how to determine stopping time for the iterative allocation sampling scheme is also proposed. A simulation results indicate significant improvement by proposed method over the standard industry practice where the total number of test cases is pre-determined.
