When a train of surface water waves is normally incident on a horizontal circular cylinder fully submerged in deep water with a free surface, it experiences no reflection, although there is a change of phase of the transmission coefficient. It is shown here that the same phenomenon also holds good when the deep water has an ice-cover instead of free surface. The problem is reduced to solved an integral equation of either a first kind or a second kind. Both the integral equations produce systems of infinite linear equations which are solving by truncation. It is observed that while the absolute value of the transmission coefficient is almost unity, its phase varies, which is depicted graphically against the wave number in a number of figures. When the ice-cover is replaced by a free surface, the corresponding figures for the phase angle can be identified with results found in the literature.

Several Bayesian classification methods for the analysis of the gliorna cancer with microarray data based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space under the multiclass setup. The multinomial logit likelihood as well as the likelihood related to the multiclass Support Vector Machine (SVM) model. It is shown that our proposed Bayesian classification models with multiple shrinkage parameters can produce more accurate classification scheme for the glioma cancer compared to several existing classical methods. We have also proposed a Bayesian variable selection scheme for selecting the differentially expressed genes integrated with our model. This integrated approach improves classifier design by yielding simultaneous gene selection.

In allele sharing method, the association between the joint inheritance of the trait and a set of markers in pedigrees is studied without modelling the trait. Aims at an efficient implementation of allele-sharing method for binary trait in multi-generation pedigrees that includes construction of a robust identity by descent measure, and the use of a computationally efficient testing procedure to test for linkage. Simulation studies demonstrate that the proposed method performs well on extended pedigrees and appears to outperform the existing allele-sharing approaches on moderate size pedigrees.

The mass transfer of a binary mixture of viscous fluids due to a temperature gradient created by the rotation of a heated circular cylinder has been discussed when there is a uniform suction at the surface of the cylinder. It is assumed that the lighter component of the mixture is present in a small quantity. Two cases (i) when suction Reynolds number R_e < 2 and (ii) when R_e > 2 have been investigated. In both the cases it has been found that due to existence of the temperature gradient a thermal diffusion flux is set up such that the lighter component moves to the hotter region near the surface of the cylinder and heavier one to the colder region. This effect of separation of the components increases with the increase of the temperature difference between the cylinder and the ambient mixture. As there is a uniform suction at the surface of the cylinder, this process of thermal diffusion provides a method of separating and collecting the lighter component of the mixture. There is no separation of the mixture when the temperature and the pressure gradients are ignored.

Deals with the effects of uniform magnetic field on incompressible cholesteric liquid crystal flowing between two infinite parallel hot plates maintained at different temperatures. A uniform magnetic field is applied in the plane of lower plate which is held stationary whereas the upper plate is moving horizontally with a uniform velocity. The effects of small temperature gradients and the applied uniform magnetic field have been examined on velocity components and orientations. The results obtained have been analysed by numerical computation. The observation shows that applied uniform horizontal magnetic field does not have any significant effect on horizontal velocity (u), vertical velocity (v), orientation (0) along the x-axis parallel to the direction of flow, whereas the increase in temperature gradient results to increase in horizontal velocity (u), vertical velocity (v) and orientation (0). However, the increase in magnetic field corresponds to variations in the orientation (0) along the axis perpendicular to the direction of flow after a critical value which thus results to the spin motion of the molecules alongwith translation motion. The observation also shows that the thermal co-efficient increases for the higher values of the temperature ratio (T) with the corresponding increase in the distance between the plates.

Any long-term experiment or observation reveals output in the form of a series of time-dependent data where some error is always expected to be embedded in it. Method of filtering the time series data is very essential for further analysis of the time series. Here we present two different models which can be used for filtering any given time-dependent data very efficiently. The first model is developed using the concept of neural network method. In this method, we have generated a new time series by a suitable selection of synaptic weights and applying the weights in the suitable positions of the original time series. The second method is termed as Adaptive Template Method or in short ATM. This method basically extracts a characteristic waveform, the template, which describes the typical grey-value variation of the considered time series data. This template is used for processing the whole sample.

Transient and steady-state velocity and temperature profiles, the local as well as average skin friction and the Nusselt number are shown graphically. It is observed that the number of steps for convergence to steady state depends strongly on Gr.

There is a theoretical framework in the Islamic science that helps us to distinguish the valid Hadith from invalid one, named Hadith science". In addition to Hadith Science, "Rejal science" that concentrates upon the examination of the characters of those who narrated the Hadith. These sciences together can contribute to prove the validity of Hadith. The main objective of this paper is to determine the rate of validity of a Hadith through a fuzzy system with respect to some parameters. According to view point of expert, the data knowledge base has been designed and the essential rules have been extracted. Then the system was implemented by the usage of expert system softwre's. After that the samples taken from "KAFI" volume 1 were inserted into the data base to be assessed by means of documentary information. The results deduced from out designed expert system were compared with expert view points. The comparison shows that our system was correct in 94% cases.

Deals with the study of free and forced MHD convective mass transfer flow with heat source and thermal diffusion embedded in a porous medium with variable thermal conductivity k defined as k = k_∞ (1 + ε θ) where ε as very small with the definition ε = K_w-K_∞/K_∞ and electrically conducting fluid past a continuously moving infinite vertical plate in presence of large suction and under the influence of uniform magnetic field in a porous medium considering heat source and thermal diffusion. Introducing the usual similarity transformations, the equations of momentum, energy and concentration are made similar. To obtain the local similarity solutions of the problem the similarity equations are solved using perturbation technique. The velocity, temperature and concentration fields are shown graphically to observe the effects of parameter entering in the problem. One of the important observation is that the inertia parameters has a significant influence on the flow in reducing the boundary layer velocity and increasing the rate of heat transfer. Finally a thorough discussion of different results is presented.

Section one is introductory in nature giving the overall contents from the survey made about PWDs in the above said Blocks. Section two gives description of FRM models and the attributes taken for the study related with the PWDs and the caretakers, the FRM model formed using these attributes and their analysis. The third section gives the suggestions and conclusions deriveel from the survey as well as the FRM model.

Results from differential geometry are employed to recast the basic equations in new forms and we get five partial differential equations in five unknowns. For the flows under study established that if the streamlines are straight lines, then they must be concurrent or parallel and if the streamlines are involutes of a curve, then, they must be concentric circles.

An approach has been proposed for the analysis by synthesis of motion textures using Lie algebra. Lie group theory is one of the appropriate tools for the synthesis and analysis of the action of a group on a manifold. The Lie algebra makes it possible to carry out computations in a co-ordinate free manner by using a bivector representation. Using the bivector representation of a lie operator, a variety of invariants useful in texture analysis can easily be computed. In the present study of rigid motion in the n-dimensional affine plane, both the framework of the Lie algebra alongside the operations of meet and join from incidence algebra have been used. This model replicates the textured image or produces another image which although is distinctly different from original, has the same first and second order statistics as the original texture.

Numerical examples are also used to study the behaviour of the model.

A graph G which admits a such labeling is called a Smarandachely k - constrained total graph, abbreviated as K - CTG. The minimium number of isolated vertces required for a given graph G to make the resultant graph a k - CTG is called the k = constrained number of the graph G and is denoted by t_k(G). Obtained l_k (K_v,m) = n(k-2) for all k ≥ 3 and n ≥ 4 and also prove that wheels, cycles, paths, complete graphs and Cartesan product of any two non trivial graphs etc., are CTG's for some k. In addition we pose some open problems.

Effect or variable permeability variation on the unsteady natural convection flow past a vertical porous surface has been investigated. It is assumed that surface is rotating with angular velocity Ω. The permeability of the porous medium and the temperature of the surface varies with time. The governing equations are solved by adopting complex variable notations and the analytical expressions for velocity and temperature fields are obtained. The effects of Prandtl number (Pr), permeability parameter (K), rotation parameter and frequency parameter have been examined by the help of graphs. It is observed that the velocity increases with increasing either K or R in case of air but reverse phenomenon is noted for water parameters on transient velocity.
