The resulting problem has been solved analytically and the solutions are found/discussed for the velocity, temperature field, skin-friction and rate of heat transfer with the help of graphs and tables.

For any semiring S, the concept of S-hypersemimodule has been defined. It was shown that how an S-hypersemimodule M can be thought of as a hypersemiring under the assumption of existence of a hyperhomomorphism from M to S.

Taking the parameters as discretized variables, the influence of involved parameters on concentrating mechanisms along the normalized length are represented graphically and obtained results are analysed. All parameters have been ranged on the basis of many theoretical as well as experimental investigations.

The paper studies a single removable server in a G/M/l queueing system with finite capacity under the N-policy. The present model has wide applications in telecommunication, computers and several other fields. A Computational technique is used to study the optimal control of a removable server in a G/M/l queueing system with funite capacity L. The term removable server is just a term for the system of turning on and the turning off the server, depending on the number of customers in the system. The meaning of N-policy is that the server is turned on when N(N≥ 1) or more customers are present, and turns the server off only when the system is empty. After the server is turned off, the server may not operate unti N customers are present in the systems. First the steady-state equations for the model are given. Computational method for the solution of these equations is described and an algorithm is developed method is tested on two examples taking inter-arrival distribution as exponential and Erlangs. Present method is powerful and is easy to implement. Numerical results for system performance measures as expected number of customers in the system and expected waiting time in the queue are calculated. It is observed that as offered load increases for the fixed value N, average number of customers in the system also increases.

An analysis is carried out to study the variable viscosity and chemical reaction effects on mixed convection flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics in a viscous fluid over a porous wedge in the presence of thermal stratification. The wall of the wedge is embedded in a uniform Darcian porous medium in order to allow for possible fluid wall suction or injection. The governing boundary layer equations are written into a dimensionless form by similarity transformations. The transformed coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by using the R.K.Gill and shooting methods. The effects of different parameters on the dimensionless velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are shown graphically. Comparisons with previously published works are performed and excellent agreement between the results is obtained. The results are presented graphically and the conclusion is drawn that the flow field and other quantities of physical interest are significantly influenced by these parameters.

The whole study has been done in an inflationary environment keeping pace with the changing scenario of the world market.

The convergence criteria for the sequences of approximate solutions generated by these algorithms are also discussed.

Concernes with the determination of the thermo-elastic displacements and stresses in a multi-layered body set up in different layers of different thickness having different elastic properties due to the application of varying heat-flux in the uppermost surface of the medium. Each layer is assumed to be made of homogeneous and isotropic elastic material. The relevant displacement components for each layer are taken to be symmetric about a line, which is perpendicular to the plane surfaces of all layers. The stress function for each layer, therefore, satisfies a single equation in absence of any body forces. The equation is then solved by integral transform technique. Analytical expressions for thermo-elastic displacement and stresses in the underlying mass and the corresponding numerical codes have been constructed for any number of layers. However, the results for two and three layers are graphically displayed.

The present paper commences with the study of the most generalised class of trigonometric polynomials, i.e. the matrix method of nth partial sum of the Fourier series which authors use for the approximation of the continuous function. The result relates the rate at which T_n (f; x) (the matrix transform of the sequence S_n(f; x) of the partial sums of the Fourier series) approaches f (x) to the smoothness property of f. The smoothness property of f which considered here is expressed in terms of modulus of smmothness in L_p(p> 1). Connection has been establish between the modulus of smoothness in L_p and the polynomial approximation of the continuous function.

Concerned with establishing the nature of the roots of the dispersion equation, which arises in the study of small-amplitude internal waves in two immiscible superposed fluids, wherein the upper layer is of finite depth bounded above by a thin but uniform layer of ice-cover modelled as a thin elastic sheet and the lower layer has a uniform rigid bottom below the interface. It is shown here that the time-harmonic waves with a given frequency can propagate with two different wavenumbers. These wavenumbers are the only positive real roots of the dispersion equation. The nature of all the roots of this dispersion equation are found by considering graphs of appropriate functions, and the fact that these are the only possible roots, have been established by Rouche's theorem of complex variable theory.
