We introduce a formulation of the initial and boundary value problem which is geometric in nature and is more natural than the vector field approach recently developed for Riemannian manifolds. Our main assumption on the manifold and the flux field is a global hyperbolicity condition, which provides a global time-orientation as is standard in Lorentzian geometry and general relativity. Assuming that the manifold admits a foliation by compact slices, we establish the existence of a semi-group of entropy solutions. Moreover, given any two hypersurfaces with one lying in the future of the other, we establish a "contraction" property which compares two entropy solutions, in a (geometrically natural) distance equivalent to the L^{1 distance. To carry out the proofs, we rely on a new version of the finite volume method, which only requires the knowledge of the given n-volume form structure on the (n + 1) -manifold and involves the total flux across faces of the elements of the triangulations, only, rather than the product of a numerical flux times the measure of that face.}

Taking the matter of degeneracy into account, via coding sequences, we give rigorous proofs of Euler characteristic formulas for non-orientable surfaces. The matter of degeneracy had not been previously considered in this context.

Kinani-Ifzarne-Oudadess [7] considered complex p-algebras with generalized involution. They proved that if (A, || . ||_p) is a C*_p -algebra, then (A, (||.||_p)^1/p) is a C*-algebra such that the two norms || . ||^1/p_p and || . ||_p are equivalent. Azmi [2] introduced the concept of n-special C* -algebras. In this article, authour introduce the concept of n-special C*_p -algebras for 0 < p ≤ 1. Then by implementing the result of K-I-O [7] and of Azmi [2], proved that these algebras characterize the algebra of all continuous complex valued functions defined on some connected compact Hausdorff subspace of Rⁿ and provided with p-sup norm. The concept of special differential p-Frechet *-algebra is also introduced, its definition is based on two notions; the notion of differential p-Frechet *-algebras, and the notion of special C*_p -algebras. Then by incorporating the Gelfand transformation as Azmi did and using the characterization of special C*_p -algebras, proved that these algebras characterize C^∞_p([a,b]), the algebra of all smooth complex valued functions defined on [a, b] and provided with a countable family of p-norms.

It is shown that for every ring R the rings R[x] and R x R, have maximal subrings, and we determine some of them. Also we show that for every topological space X with at least two elements the rings C(X) and C*(X) have maximal subrings. Authour also study properties which are shared by a ring and its maximal subrings. For instance we show that R is a maximal subring in a field if and only if it is a maximal G-domain and in this case they have | Spec(R) | ≤ 2. Finally, the latter result is also valid if we replace G-domains by valuation rings.

The governing equations are non dimensionalised and solved numerically using Finite Element Method. Left vertical surface of the cavity is maintained at isothermal temperature Th and right vertical surface at Tc. Top and bottom surface of the cavity is assumed to be adiabatic. The effects of Rayleigh number, Aspect ratio and Radistion parameter on heat transfer rate are investigated for Rayleigh numbers ranging from 10-100 and for four different aspect ratios 0.5, 1, 1.5 & 2. The effect of Rayleigh number on the heat transfer rate is found to be more significant when the enclosure is shallow (Ar > 1) and the influence of Aapect ratio is stronger when the enclosure is tall and the Rayleigh number is high.

In this paper we prove that Y-trees, Coconut trees and double star K_1,n,n are strong 2-combination graph.

Exact solution to the problem on unsteady MHD free convection flow of an incompressible, viscous, electrically conducting fluid through porous media past an infinite porous vertical non conducting moving plate in the presence of uniform transverse magnetic field is investigated. This type of problem finds application in many technological and engineering fields such as rocket propulsion systems, space craft re-entry aerothermodynamics, cosmical flight aerodynamics, plasma physics, Glass production and furnace engineering. The Roselland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat transfer in the limit of the optically thin fluid. Velocity, temperature and concentration of the flow have been presented for various parameters such as thermal Grashof number, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, radiation parameter and magnetic parameter. The local and average skin fraction, Nusslet numbers are also presented.

Theory of C2-like Finsler spaces, C-reducible Finsler spaces and Serni-C'-reducible Finsler spaces have been studied by several authors (Matsumoto, 1972, 1986 and Matsumoto and Numata, 1980). These spaces are also important in the sense that various torsion and curvature tensors can be explored explicitly in it. The theory of generalized Finsler space has been studied by Izumi, Sakaguchi, and Yoshida (Sakagnchi, 1992; Sakaguchi, Izumi and Yoshida, 1994, 1994) where as the theory of La,grarige and generalized Lagrange spaces have been studied by several authors (Anastasiei and Shimada, 1998; Miron and Anastasiei, 1994; Kawaguchi and Miron, 1989 and Singh, 1999). The purpose of the present paper is to introduce C2-likeness, C-reducibility in generalized Finsler space F_n, in generalized Lagrange space L_n and in corresponding Lagrange space L_n*. The notations and terminologies are referred to Matsumoto's monograph (Matsumoto, 1986).
