Various properties and characterization of P_S-spaces are introduced. The bitopological analogues of P_S-axiom and P_1S-axiom are named as pairwise P_S-axiom and pairwise P_1S-axiom respectively. Properties of these bitopological separation axioms are also studied in the present work.

Circumferential stress is maximum at external surface for circular cylinder, made of orthotropic / isotropic material. Therefore, circular cylinder made of isotropic material is on the safer side of the design as compared to circular cylinder made of orthotropic material.

The main focus of this paper is to derive the theoretical distribution of QAL for the two illness-death models, under some parametric models for the sojourn time distributions in different states. The QAL distribution is then estimated by replacing the parameters in its theoretical expression by the corresponding estimates obtained by using standard survival analysis techniques. The performance of the estimator is investigated through a simulation study.

Study strong local colorings of some special families of graphs. A local coloring of a graph G of order at least 2 is a function c: V(G) → A/such that for every set S ⊆ V (G) with 2 ≤|S| ≤ 3, there exists two distinct vertices u, v e S such that |c(u)-c(v)|≥ m_S, where m_S is the size of the induced subgraph < S >. The value of a local coloring c is the maximum color it assigns to a vertex of G. The local chromatic number of G is the minimum value of any local coloring of G and we denote it by x₁ (G). A local coloring of G with value%, (G) is called a minimum local coloring of G. If a minimum local coloring of G uses all the%. (G) colors then it is called a strong local coloring of G. If every minimum local coloring of G uses all the X_l (G) colors then G is called strong local colorable and in this case, its local chromatic number is called strong local chromatic number and is denoted by X_l (G). In this paper, we have considered some important families of graphs like grid graphs, cycles with a chord, fans, double cones and determined the strong local chromatic number, if it exists; otherwise, we have proved that they are not strong local colorable but local colorable and determined their local chromatic number.

Let (X, T₁, T₂) be a bitopological space and 5(T_i), (i= 1, 2) be the set of all s-lower semi continuous functions defined from X into the closed unit interval I = [0, 1]. In this paper the concept of s-induced fuzzy supra topology due to Mukherjee, A (Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 34(2) (2003), 229-235) has been generalized to the bifuzzy supra topological spaces & some of its basic properties are discussed. It is seen that the study of s-induced fuzzy supra topological space turns out to be the study of a special kind induced fuzzy supra topological space. Finally the connections between some separations properties of the bitopological space (X, T₁, T₂) and that of the corresponding s-induced bifuzzy supra topological space (X, S(T₁), S(T₂)) are shown & we also introduce the s-initial bitopological space corresponding to its s-induced bifuzzy supra topological space and some of its basic properties are investigated.

Extreme value and extreme spacing distributions are elegant and important artifacts of statistical theory and practice. However, in statistical education, due to the highly technical nature of the subject, they are generally treated as special topics. But, as demonstrated by Freimer et al. (1989), the asymptotic distributions of the extremes and extreme spacings of random samples, and the related theory can be derived and developed by applying elementary methods to the population quantile functions when they are available in closed forms. However, their work excluded the pedagogi-cally important Gaussian and gamma populations. In this paper, using the closed form expression for the quantile function of the Pareto family first, we show how this approach works. We then proceed to demonstrate its use by simple Taylor expansion for the normal and gamma populations, cases where the closed form expressions for the quantile functions are unavailable. In the process, we relate the geometric notion of tail length to the extreme value distribution. We also examine the case of inverse Gaussian (IG) family, which is well known to be strikingly and intriguingly analogous to the Gaussian family. Actually, in the present context we consider not only the IG but the related reciprocal IG (RIG) and the root reciprocal IG (RRIG) families. The extreme value theory for these three families is derived, again using the elementary methods, even though their quantile functions also lack closed form expressions. Interestingly, it is seen that the extreme value theory for the RRIG population, and not of the IG population, is somewhat analogous to the Gaussian distribution.
