Many practitioners and researcher have stated that the widespread of Computer Support of Collaborative work has not been as successful as hoped. There have been many challenges that have faced managers and team members when conducting collaborative work sessions in the virtual environment. Collaboration Script is considered a relatively a new approach in assisting designing successful collaboration sessions. Collaboration Script is a script that formally defines the flow of activities that are needed during a collaboration session. Yet, researchers have been uncertain regarding the complexity nature of such scripts. The key strength of the proposed framework is in its ability to derive a collaborative scripting language that can describe complex designs and in the same time keeps its simplicity. The resulted scripting language should be similar to software programming scripting languages and in the same time based on profound collaboration techniques. Team leaders and managers with basic programming skills should be able to adopt and use such language in a short time and in the same time not afraid of designing complex team collaboration sessions. The proposed framework is composed of four main layers. The First layer is based on well known collaborative techniques that contain a set of mini-activities which are located in the second layer. The third layer formulates the notation and rules of the proposed scripting language. It encloses the required components and commands that should be used in such script. The forth layer provides the needed support to implement such scripts by providing appropriate set of collaborative and supportive tools.

Objective is to understand the perceptions of health care providers about barriers to improved patient safety in the Indian state of Kerala. Five focus group discussions were held with 16 doctors and 20 nurses across three institutions (primary, secondary and tertiary care centers) in Kerala, India. Transcripts were analyzed by thematic analysis. Setting: One rural primary care clinic, one secondary care hospital and one tertiary care center in Kerala, India. Participants: 16 doctors and 20 nurses participated in five focus groups. Overall, there were 129 unique mentions of barriers to patient safety; these barriers were categorized into five major themes. 'Limited resources' was the most prominent theme, followed by barriers related to health systems issues, the medical culture, provider training and patient education/awareness. Although inadequate resources are likely a substantial challenge to the improvement of patient safety in India, other patient safety barriers such as health systems changes, training, and education, could be addressed with fewer resources. While initial approaches to improving patient safety in India and other low- and middle-income countries have focused on implementing processes that represent best practices, this study suggests that multifaceted interventions to also address more structural problems (such as resource constraints, systems issues, and medical culture) may be important.

Indian Textile Industries are facing global competitive environment and are having pressure on the profits. Gone are the days of huge profits. Domestic value addition and export opportunities are diminishing for the organized sectors. Countries like China are dumping their products at lower cost. Basically cost has become deciding factor. I believe, Cost saved is profit earned and that is the only way to face competition to survive and grow. Normally, we just desire and communicate to reduce costs at all the levels without any specific methodology. Hence nothing happens and sometimes it increases instead of reducing. Unless we have structured specific way for creating cost awareness and method to reduce the costs, without incurring expenditure, it does not happen. In this article, I have suggested unique way for cost awareness and mechanism to reduce through two ways. One is with individual innovation, which leads to self-pride on the achievements. In this system, no investment is needed but individual creativity plays vital role.

The paper, is part of the WHO supported study, entitled "Study on Nursing and Midwifery in India: a critical review", is developed with the objective to review the current organizational and management structure for the nursing positions at the State Directorates in India and obtain a Leadership perspective to strengthen nursing management capacities to address maternal health issues. The study descriptive and qualitative in nature and the sources of information were both primary and secondary collected from 16 states of India. Since none of the states have neither a Nursing Cell nor the post of Director Nursing, final decision-making powers rest with state health secretaries and medical directors. The nursing management structure majorly managed by senior policy makers from the medical fraternity, and provides very little scope for nursing professionals to participate in policy decision making to bring about reforms. There is no uniformity on HR issues concerning career graphs and pay structures across the states. In order to strengthen nursing as a profession and for facilitating their role at the policy level, more powers and autonomy needs to be given to them and this requires HR policy guidelines for nurses. Setting up a separate nursing directorate, to be headed by a senior nursing professional, is suggested in every state along with a strong nursing division at the National level. This total paradigm shift will empower nursing professionals to take up the leadership role at the policy level to bring about necessary reforms. Across the country, nursing professionals repeatedly echoed one requirement: To reframe nursing leadership at all levels.

Indian J community Med 2015, 40(2), 108-15.
Male migrants act as a bridge for transmitting infection from core risk groups to general population and hence this group becomes essential for the HIV control program. Migrant workers constitute a large proportion of workforce in India and HIV/AIDS epidemic in them would cause huge economic losses. The aim of this study was to ascertain the HIV-risk behavior among male migrant factory workers. This was a cross-sectional facility based survey conducted in 2011. Male migrant workers aged ≥18 years, who were born outside Haryana, who had moved to current location after 15 years of age, who had worked in the current factory for at least one year, who were willing to participate and able to give valid consent were eligible. A consecutive sampling was done. Descriptive, bivariate and multiple logistic regression analyses were done. A total of 755 male subjects completed the interview. About 21.5% had experienced non-spousal sexual intercourse in last one year. Nearly 60% did not use a condom at the last non-spousal sex. Factors associated with recent non-spousal sex were being unmarried, younger age at migration, recent migration to Haryana, greater number of places migrated and lesser total duration of migration and those associated with non-use of condom at the last non-spousal sex were older age, lower education, lesser number of places migrated and lower level of HIV/AIDS knowledge. Conclusion: Unprotected, recent non-spousal sex was common among male migrants, which could increase their HIV/AIDS vulnerability.

Knowledge of the pollination biology and breeding systems is very important for understanding the life history of longlived tree species. In case of endangered species, the information may have implication for conservation practices. In the present investigation on Eugenia discifera Gamble, an endangered tree species, belongs to the family Myrtaceae, the reproductive phenology, floral biology, pollination biology and breeding system has been studied during 2012-2013. Based on the observation, the lifespan of a single flower was about 1-2 days and to complete the whole process of fruit formation was 102-112 days. Inflorescence is terminal raceme or axillary, flowers are hermaphrodite (bisexual), zygomorphic, epigynous and complete. Sepals and petals are four. Stamens are conspicuous and numerous, stigma simple, fruits are globoid with crowed by calyx lobes. Breeding experiments showed there is no apomixis. The lowest mean fruit set were observed with autogamy pollination (34.00±16.73%) and highest mean fruit set were observed with geitonogamy pollination (48.00±21.68%) respectively. However, there is no significant difference in the fruit set by geitonogamy and xenogamy. The flowers are often visited by various pollinating insects. The most frequent visitors are butterfly, Apis sp, Anomala sp, Altica cyanea (Weber) and they visit to collect food sources such as pollen and nectar for their survival in turn helps in pollination. The factors responsible for declining the population of Eugenia discifera were recorded.

Seller offers its buyer a credit period to settle the account which attracts more buyers and boosts market demand. However, the offer of credit period leads to default risk for the supplier. In this study, the seller is the decision maker. The demand is considered to be increasing with time and is dependent of permissible trade credit. The default risk in incurring in sales revenue is incorporated in objective of profit maximization. The necessary and sufficient conditions to obtain the seller's optimal decision about setting the permissible credit period and purchase quantity are discussed. A procedure to determine the optimal solution is outlined. Finally, the numerical example is given to illustrate the theoretical results and sensitivity analysis is carried out to deduce some managerial insights.

Human resource development plays an important role in the socio-economic development of any region. This is due to the reason that if there is underinvestment in human resources the rate at which additional physical capital can be productivity utilized will he limited since technical, professional and administrative people are required to make effective use of material resources. According to Mandela (1994), "Education is the great engine for personal development. It is through education that the daughter of peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine that a child of a farm worker can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have not what we are given that separates one person from another". Sonebhadra district is situated in south-eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. The district lies between latitude 23 °52 'N to 25°32' N and longitude 82°72'E to 83°73' E in Uttar Pradesh. Population of the district according to census 2011 is 18,62,642. Population is supposed to he good resource in economic development of any area.Sonebhadra district is full of natural resources but underdeveloped human resource is major hindrance in the development of the district and that is why it is responsible for poor socio-economic condition of the people in the district. So, this paper attempts to bring the centrality of human resource development in order to push socio-economic development.

Opsearch 2015, 52(1), 1-17.
This paper develops an economic production quantity (EPQ) model with price and advertisement dependent demand under the effect of inflation and time value of money. Here, the rate of replenishment is considered to be a variable and the generalized unit production cost function is formulated by incorporating the several factors like raw material, labour, replenishment rate, advertisement and other factors of the manufacturing system. The selling price of an unit is determined by a mark-up over the production cost. In most of the inventory model for perishable items, the holding cost has been considered as a constant function. But in realistic situation this cost is varying according to time. In this model, the holding cost per unit of the item per unit time is assumed to be an increasing linear function of time spent in storage. Also in this model, shortages are allowed and we consider that shortage occurs before the starting of inventory. This type of inventory is called SFI (shortage followed by inventory) policy. In the model, the customers are viewed to be impatient and a fraction of the demand is exponentially backlogged. This fraction is a function of the waiting time of the customers. This model aids in minimizing the total inventory cost by finding the optimal cycle length, optimal production and the optimal order quantity. The model is extended to the case of non-perishable product also. The optimal solution of the model is illustrated with the help of a numerical example.

Interview of 11 directors of electrical engineering industry organizations showed the problems of management accounting at the enterprises and allowed to diagnose the quality of using such elements of management accounting as budgeting, calculation, internal reporting. Such measures as the creation of a unified automated enterprise management system, the development of the financial structure of the enterprise, the organization of financial responsibility centers, the development, production and implementation of the budgeting system are proposed. The budgeting method is developed. The stages of this method are following: the analysis of the existing planning system in the enterprise; the formation of the financial structure of the enterprise; the creating interaction scheme budgets; the distribution budgets centers of financial responsibility; the definition of key performance indicators in budget execution; the monitoring and analysis of budget execution. The factors which influence establishing budgeting system at the enterprises have been defined. Centers of financial responsibility were created to keep track on efficiency rate of companies' activity. The advantages of proposed method have been formulated in comparison with existing approaches. They are the principles of providing scheduling flexibility, completeness budgets, complexity of the system, delegating responsibility, transparency of information.

Demand is assumed to be stock-dependent up to the level of available stock. After which the demand is considered as constant i.e. during stock-out period. Shortages are allowed and are fully backlogged. Profits are maximized in both the infinite and finite time horizon cases. Some special cases are also derived from the main models. Two numerical examples are provided for both finite and infinite time horizon. Sensitivity analysis performed has shown successful effects of various model parameters on net profit.

Opsearch 2015, 52(1), 42-54.
Product choice and pricing are critical decisions taken by firms while launching new products. Firms need to consider the effect of competition while taking the above decisions. Extensive literature is available for pricing, positioning and launch sequence determination of differentiated products under competition. But, there is need to understand the leader-follower behaviour of firms with differentiated products. The classical game theoretic models do n6t consider bounds on prices. Hence, applying these models for product choice and pricing decisions in a real-life industrial setting may result in infeasible product choices and generate misleading results. To overcome this gap between theory and practice, we develop game theoretic models for sequential decision making by two firms using reservation price as upper bound on prices by formulating it as a quadratic programming problem. Our approach generates interesting insights on the competitive behavior of firms and shows that leaders can indeed enjoy first-mover advantage under certain conditions.

This study aims at developing a model for determining optimal 77 in data envelopment analysis -discriminant analysis (DEA-DA) in order to predict the suppliers' group membership in supply chain. Also, this paper improves the DEA-DA model developed by Sueyoghi (Eur. J. Oper. Res. 115(3), 564-582; [11]). hi this model, 77 parameter is used in order to avoid a trivial solution and to create more discrimination. Since the main shortcoming of the DEA-DA is determining η value based on the researcher's subjective decision, the present paper develops a model to determine optimal 77. Consequently, this paper leads to the estimate of an optimal set of weights for producing a hyperplane for determining the discriminant linear function and. hence promotes the prediction precision of the group membership of a set of observations. The efficacy of proposed model is presented using a numerical example as well as a case study.

This paper revises data envelopment analysis (DEA) estimates of efficiency for decision making units (DMU). This is done by smoothing the DEA efficiency frontier by training an artificial neural network (ANN) to fit a closed functional form for input or output prediction of multiple DMUs. By using neural network we overcome the regression model shortcoming of a single dependent variable. DEA is known to be sensitive to the operational efficiency of Decision Making Units (DMU). In the absence of high-performing DMUs, DEA reports falsely elevated efficiency levels. The problem of non-smooth, piece-wise linear efficiency frontier poses a handicap in the measurement of relative efficiency. In this paper we describe a procedure that uses two-stage DEA, a data generation procedure (DGP) and ANN training and prediction to overcome this data-based shortcoming. We also provide two empirical illustrations of this procedure and conclude by explaining the differences in the revised efficiencies of the DMUs. Though we have used constant returns to scale for the empirical illustrations, any other return-to-scale formulation would work just as well.

010944 Sinha M K (Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, New Delhi) : Achieving inclusive growth from large water resources projects. Wat Energy int 2015, 57(12), 39-44.
Water is essential for everybody's life, living and livelihood. It is this unique reach, which makes water a most effective means to achieve inclusive growth. It fulfils most basic human and ecological needs and is indispensable to almost all economic activities, including agriculture, energy production, industry, and mining. With impacts on health, gender equity, education and livelihood, water management and water resources projects are crucial to sustainable economic development and the alleviation of poverty. Since beginning of the civilization, water resources projects have contributed towards all round development of the region. But sometimes these projects lack holistic approach thereby inviting criticisms for skewed and lopsided developments along with concerns for environment and displacement of inhabitants of the submergence area. While the command area benefit from irrigation, water supply, etc., people from submergence area not only lose their land and/or livelihood but also their social networks. Similarly, implementation of environment safeguard measures and resettlement & rehabilitation measures often raise several questions. In the process, the opportunity for inclusive growth is not utilized fully. There is a need to learn from implementation of large projects, such as Tehri HE Project, Sardar Sarovar (Narmada) Project, etc., so that proper policy perspectives emerge towards achieving inclusive growth. These experiences and best practices were also corroborated during consultation meetings for National Water Policy (2012), which helped in evolving some policy recommendations in this regard. This paper makes an attempt to present these best practices and policy prescriptions so that project authorities may adopt these and make large water resources projects more beneficial and contribute towards achieving inclusive growth.
