The e-commerce market in India is set to grow the fastest within the Asia-Pacific region between 2012 and 2016. Venture capitalists are pumping finance in the Indian e-commerce sector, corporate giants are entering this market, and 100% FD1 is likely in this sector. Also, Internet penetration is increasing in India, coupled with the increasing base of social networking sites and sale of advanced smartphones and tablets. Apart from metros and large cities, even tier II and III cities and towns are registering considerable sales of products and services using the online channel. On the consumer side, several factors lead to staggering sales using online channels in India. Convenience, product variety, shopping comfort, enjoyment, ease of delivery, huge discounts, cash payment options, and increasing penetration of debit and credit cards are a few to name. However, using the Internet only as a medium to review and check products instead of buying, poor status of cyber laws in India, and challenge of reaching break-even point and making profits from that point continue to be the issues in this sector. In this light, in this study, we tried to identify trends in B2C online buying in the Indian context. This work would be of immense interest for academicians, researchers, and online retailers in India.

Indian J Market 2016, 46(1), 8-23.
The free bus concept is one of the strategies used in many countries to reduce the traffic congestion problems. In Australia, free buses have been introduced in selected places to protect the nature of the city, but not for office commuters. Malaysia is unique in the sense that the free bus service is funded by the government as an alternative for commuting to ease the traffic woes. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the utilization of the free bus service since the free bus service is underutilized by 55% even after 2 years of its implementation in Malaysia. This study examined the relationship between five independent variables (predictors) namely, perceived ease of use (PE), perceived usefulness (PU), moral obligations (MO), subjective norm (SN), and financial incentives (FIN) on the intention to utilize the free bus service. From the current empirical study of 142 respondents, 60.6% were utilizing the free bus service, and 39.4% were non-users. The results showed that PE, PU, MO, and SN significantly influenced the intention to use the free bus service. It is worthwhile to mention that FIN did not statistically influence the intention to use the free bus service. It clearly indicates that people will not take it for granted anything that is given free of cost. The findings strengthen the application of the decomposed theory of planned behavior (DTPB) in predicting Malaysian commuters' behavior. The research findings also indicate that people have started taking note of the environmental problems and the ultimate benefits of using public transport for primary travel to resolve traffic congestion issues.

Indian J Market 2016, 46(1), 35-47.
This paper analyzed markets for sustainable coffee by taking into account five individual sustainable coffee initiatives, that is, 4C (Common Codes for Coffee Community), Utz, Rainforest Alliance (RFA), Fair-trade Labeling Organization (FLO), and Organic coffee. The sustainable coffee production experienced a phenomenal growth over the past decade. However, the volumes of sales represent only a minor portion of production. Less than 25% of sustainable coffee produced was 'actually sold' as sustainable, while the remaining was just sold as 'ordinary' conventional coffee, without receiving any extra market benefits. Among the individual coffee certification initiatives, 4C (Common Codes for Coffee Community) signaled a more serious over-supply in the global market, wherein only 6% of its overall sustainable production was actually sold as sustainable over 2008-12. During the same period, Utz coffee certification could sell 25%, Rainforest Alliance (RFA) could trade 50%, and organic certified coffee could sell 55% of its standard-compliant production as sustainable. The study revealed that global sustainable coffee market is characterized by massive 'over-supply'; demand being a major constraint. Underpinning this issue is the need for sustainable coffee market. The current market challenge is to stabilize mismatch between demand and supply for sustainable coffee. From a sustainable development perspective, this remains a serious matter of concern for policy makers, public institutions, and multi-stakeholders to engage in market-based control mechanism in constructing effective 'supply- management base' as a strategy for price-stabilization and to enhance further sustainable growth. At a micro level in India, coffee certification is still at an infancy stage, contributing to just 2% of total global sustainable production. The Indian Coffee Board and apex coffee organizations need to work in this direction to encourage both sustainable production and marketing, so as to assist growers in assessing preferential market benefits, besides supporting high quality 'Indian coffee' being traded at both the global and domestic levels.

The structure of global economy changed after World War-II with the formation of regional trade blocs. This leads to reduction of barriers to trade, opening up of the economies and increase in global competition. A large number of regional, bilateral and economic integrations came into existence. BR1CS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) is one of the economic integration whose all member nations are the fastest growing and newly industrialised economies. BRICS has become talk of the town now as these countries have significant influence on regional and global affairs. This group is expected to extend further and many emerging countries aspire to be its part. This paper deals with the question: Which country should be the next member nation of BRICS - Egypt or Indonesia? The economies of both the countries are well analyzed considering their macroeconomic variables. Analysis of various parameters and a study of the mutual gains from trade to BRICS suggest that inclusion of Indonesia into group, at present, looks more viable. As the strongest member of the bloc i.e. China, at present, is facing an economic downturn. If at this time an inclusion happens, then Indonesia will certainly provide strength to the bloc. But at the end, it is BRICS bloc only which will take decision regarding the inclusion of next member nation because any new inclusion will play a role in either increasing or decreasing the strategic importance of BRICS at global level.

Volatile foreign exchange rotes may adversely affect a firm's revenues streams, cost structure, operating cash flows, net cash flows and even its equity prices. Present paper is an attempt to measure various foreign exchange exposures like FX Operating Exposure, FX Net Cash Flow Exposure, and FX Equity Exposure for Indian exporting and importing firms. Exporting firms includes firms from three industries namely, Information Technology, Automobile, and Textile, while importing firms include Oil & Gas sector firms. FX Equity Exposures are calculated by considering the respective firm's FX Operating Exposures, financial leverage, and use of foreign currency/home currency debt. A listed firm can also estimate its FX equity exposure using regression between actual stock returns and percentage changes in FX value of foreign currency. Regression based estimation presents the post hedging position of FX equity exposures, while calculated FX equity exposures are based on raw data, without considering the off-balance sheet hedging instruments like forwards, futures, options and currency swaps. Results shows that regression based method yields significantly lower value of FX equity exposure in comparison to the operating exposure based method.

Italy, as a nation, is widely recognized as the world leader in luxury brands. With the developed markets being hit by the recession, many Italian luxury brands have taken the plunge into Emerging Markets. Their performance in Indian market has been a mixed bag. With the kind of opportunity India presents, it makes perfect business sense for Italian luxury brands to enter Indian market. However there are major challenges in India, which make it the most unique and quite a difficult market to understand. Some of the challenges identified in this study include difficult operating environment, socio-economic challenges, weak infrastructure, and lack of quality retail space for luxury brands. The Italian luxury brands need to give special focus on India, be ready to tweak their business models which are successful elsewhere, look at long-term results from India and utilize the Indian advantage beyond the mere product/market opportunity.

Int J Agric Envir Biotechnol 2015, 8(1), 219-25.
In rural areas, both unemployment and underemployment exist side by side, the distinction between them is by no means sharp. The various sophistications and refinements brought about in the concepts and measurement of employment and unemployment, have not fully succeeded even in properly quantifying the above problems. Therefore, in the present study, an attempt has been made to measures the unemployment and under employment of agricultural labour in Tarai regions of uttaranchal state and Uttar Pradesh according to time and income criterion. In each state one district was selected randomly viz. Sidharth Nagar in Uttar Pradesh and U.S. Nagar in Uttaranchal state. From each of these two selected district, the Birdpur block in Sidharth Nagar district and Rudrapur block in U.S. Nagar district was selected randomly. The study is based on the 55 households in Birdpur block and 66 households in Rudrapur block. Thus, total sample consists of 121 agricultural labour households. The study pertained to the year 1999-2000. In order to achieve the objective simple averages and percentages were used. The findings of the study reveals that the unemployment and under employment measured by time and income criteria for agricultural labour household as well as agricultural labour was higher in Uttar Pradesh as compared to Uttaranchal state. It is, therefore, suggested that more avenues of employment must be provided at the village level, including provision of loans for the purchase of inputs, cross bred cattle, and land distribution among agricultural labourers.

The significance of banking sector in a nation's economy has led researchers to focus on the role of bank employees who contribute to national development. The schism between public and private sector banks in terms of their structure and functioning among other things, has led the present study to examine the influence of organizational trust on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among middle-level executives in these two banking sectors. Data was collected from middle-level executives (N=100) from private (n=50) and public (n=50) sector banks in Delhi and N. C. R., using purposive sampling. The measures of The Organizational Trust Index, Organizational Job Satisfaction Questionnaire and Organizational Commitment Scale were employed in the present research. Findings suggest that the two groups differ significantly in terms of organizational trust and job satisfaction. On affective and normative commitment, the executives of the two banking sectors differed significantly, though not so on continuous commitment. Further, regression analysis showed that organizational trust has a significant influence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among middle-level executives of public and private sector banks. Results were analyzed and interpreted in light of existing theoretical framework and Indian socio-cultural context.

India occupies a significant place and a niche in global microfinance through promotion of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the home grown SHG - Bank Linkage Model. Financial inclusion is the call of the day for economic inclusion to uplift the rural poor. Women Self Help Groups are playing an important role in optimization of natural and human resources as nearly 50 per cent of the working women in rural areas are engaged in agriculture and allied activities. Over a period of time it has been a point of concern that WSHGs require a large amount of pre and post lending monitoring and the success lies in the regularity in the flow of finance. Keeping in view the importance of financial management in micro finance in the empowerment of rural women in India an attempt is made in this research paper to examine the financial management practices of Women's Self Help Groups.

Anand is number one district of Gujrat in inland fishery production through ponds and tanks. In the particular district, rohu, catla, nagri, surimai and bighead are abundantly found and large number of middlemen come between producer and consumer that increases marketing cost and margin. In this juncture, marketing efficiency, price spread and farmers' share in consumer rupee were decided for study purpose. This study was undertaken in the month of April-May, 2015 in eight taluka of Anand district purposively through a pre structured schedule. Rohu was observed as efficiently marketed than other categories of fish. It also generated larger share in consumer rupee for the producer and it was the only category of fish that was marketed in all the identified channels of the region. Marketing efficiency was better for larger fish and poor for the smaller ones. In all the channel the farmers' share in consumer rupee for bighead fish was constant but for Nagri it was very poor. Itinerant traders were earning maximum profit in marketing of Bighead fish. As the overall study area was completely unorganised, cooperatives and SHG may improve the marketing efficiency of the particular region.

Int J envir Sci 2015, 5(5), 1043-51.
The effective management of a multi tenanted high rise building structure requires an integration of several processes which do not readily come to the mind of a tenant or even the property owner. My observation and experience in the profession so far has shown that more that eighty percent (80%) of graduates of Estate Management in Nigeria never have the opportunity of managing high rise buildings during their years of professional practice. Property management involves services such as property inspection, rent collection, service charge collection, servicing and maintenance of property and facilities within, drafting agreements for tenancy, selection of worthy/capable tenants, handling of legal matters, overseeing security and maintenance of plant and machinery such as elevators, air conditioners intercom gadgets and generator. A high rise multi-tenanted building is that which is on at least five floors. Tenancy in such structures could either be residential, commercial or both residential and commercial. A multi tenanted high rise office building must be run in such a way as to meet up to business requirements. The anticipated standard of management rendered in such a building within Nigeria's capital city should be nothing short of top-notch. Management of high rise buildings in multiple occupations poses special problems. This critical analysis examines such problems and proffers solutions.

The objective of this paper is to measure the responsiveness of tax structure and highlight economic and strategic implications of tax revenue collection in India with regard to India's economic growth and development. Findings include analysis of tax revenues including both direct and indirect taxes as far as measuring tax buoyancy and elasticity is concerned and possible recommendations for future so as to carve out a voluntary taxpaying culture on a large scale in India. Since there is lack of reliable data on various exemptions and/or deductions as are available under Indian tax laws, the focus is on collections at Central level only. Alt stakeholders including government, corporate sector, regulatory bodies and citizens need clarity on elasticity and buoyancy estimates of tax revenue collection in India so as to undertake immediate measures to address to worsening fiscal situation in the country. In India, there is lack of research in the area of tax revenue collection. The paper measured buoyancy and elasticity of Indian tax structure and thereafter linked it to forecast future tax revenue collections. The study revealed surprising result for indirect taxes which are reporting responsiveness of unity. The excise duty which has huge tax base i.e manufacturing activities in India reported responsiveness of 1.2. The direct taxes found to be more responsive and reported elasticity of more than unity.

Small businesses and microenterprises enable an individual to earn some livelihood, create value and not create pressure on the available employment avenues. They are a parameter and a measure for social and economic development. They are a/so good examples of sound economics at micro level. In India we have a plethora of such microenterprises which are a source of earnings, mostly for the poor and uneducated. They also contribute to the economy as a whole by initiating the movement of money, if even at a very small scale. A study of these microetiterprises provides an opportunity to derive some business lessons which can be generalized for other entrepreneurs and business. The survey attempts to find interrelationship amongst 30 variables of microenterprises and tries to interpret issues relevant to social development, economic development and poverty alleviation. Such an analysis also provides lessons which can be used to increase the efficiency of management decisions for entrepreneurs and managers. Thus, it becomes imperative to understand the business processes of such small organizations. The findings of the report would be useful for corporate and the policymakers apart from giving inputs to researchers.

This paper studied the global methods to determine the geodynamical stability of mine workings in the conditions of dynamic forms of rock pressure during the development of deep horizons of mines. It was found that the available approaches to the assessment of stability and classification of rock outcropping require further development as they do not give quantity assessment of rock fragmentation at all stages of deformation near mine workings and do not account for mechanics of rocks during dynamic impact and the ability to control mechanical processes in rock mass at before- and over-limit deformation stages. On the basis of experimental research done at Russian mines of OAO Sevuralboksitruda it was found that the nature of rock fragmentation in the border zone depends on the parameters of seismic waves which are in turn caused by the energy of the dynamic effects. Energy classification of dynamic effects was developed, most fully disclosing the nature of dynamic impact on mine workings, improved strength criterion was offered and operational condition of mine workings was determined.

The legislation defines the rights and responsibilities of subsoil users and other members of the waste management process, therefore, the state of affairs in this sphere largely depends on its quality. Modern "conflict" of legal acts, which is caused by the absence of state integrated concept of waste management, forms a chain of consequences that lead to their accumulation in the environment. The main problem is still the lack of coordination of environmental and mining legislation, misleading the subsoil users.
