Remote user authentication and key agreement system through smartcard is a viable practical solution to validate the eligibility of a remote user and thus to provide a secure communication. Suggests a Secure Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol (SAKEP) for Credential Services. The major intrinsic worth of this scheme include that, the system do not require any verification table and the user is at liberty to choose and change the password. Further, with this system, the computation and communication costs are lower as the scheme adopts one-way hash functions, block ciphers and smartcard. In addition, the proposed scheme offers mutual authentication between the server and the user by a nonce-based plan and is free from time-synchronisation problem. The proposed scheme is secured against Id-theft, also resists to replay attacks, stolen verifier attacks, guessing attacks, reflection attack, and offers forward secrecy and known-key security.

A citation analysis of Doctoral Dissertations submitted to the Department of Library & Information Science at Poona University, Poona was performed as a way of determining the use of information sources made by the scholars of the university. A total of 20 dissertations were studied which generated a total of 5252 citations. Distribution of citation by forms of documents, core Journals, distribution of journals by frequency of citations, year wise and country wise distribution of journal articles cited were analysed. The study reveals that Journals is the most preferred sources of information used by the researchers in the field of Library & Information Science accounting for 45.16% of total citations. The Journal Scientometrics has ranked the highest with 98 citations accounting to 4.13% of the total journal citations. Thus the results of the study may be used as a means of evaluative tool for quality collection of the Poona University Library.

Total of 3040 citations that appeared in the articles of 5 volumes, 76 to 80 (1997-2001) of Journal of Genetics were collected and a rank list of 134 most cited journals representing 86.94% of the total citations was prepared. The study reveals that the literature of genetics was scattered in 384 journals. However most of the research work (50.17%) are published in 20 Journals. Among them the journal Genetics published from United States occupied the 1st position with 9.34% citations followed by Science (5.20%) & Nature (4.90%). This study also reveals that researchers in genetics have cited more foreign journals than Indian Journals. However from the 11 Indian Journals 54 citations have been found out of 2409 citations. Journal of Genetics is ranked first with 32 citations. They form only 1.33%. At the same time, other Indian journals have got only the least importance. Country-wise distribution of first 25 ranked Journals, showed that USA ranked first with 130 journals. The authorship pattern reveals that multi-authored papers were more and also the author self citation rate is very low. The analysis Indicated that the authors in genetics have considered the current materials. However, there are more number of citations i.e, 957 (31.48%) distributed in the age range of 0-4 years. There are 1824 (60%) distributed in the age range of 0-10 years. This study also shows that the half life period of documents used in Journals of Genetics is 7.5 years.

Investigates the relationship between information source quality (viz information relevance and information reliability) and the business performance of the thirty-eight community banks in Osun State Nigeria at the time of research. The study was executed through five objectives and two hypotheses. The research employed the expost-facto descriptive survey method in its research design. It concluded that there was a significant correlation between quality of the information sources used and the business performance of the banks (r = 0.1868, P≤0.05). It also found out that there was a strong positive relationship between quality of sources used and frequency of use (r = 0.7408, P≤0.05). The study recommended a better education for the managers in the sourcing of quality information; the packaging and repackaging of information for the community banking system and the treatment of information as a critical factor in strategic planning and management and the establishment of formal library systems.

Work was designed to reveal the level of Library membership status at Igbinedion University, Okada. A structured questionnaire was designed which was administered to six colleges of the University randomly. The questionnaire was made up of two sections. A. was meant to provide personal data and B. Library usage background information on users. College of Business and Management Studies, out of 524 only 99 registered (18.9%). College of Engineering out of 561, student population, 56 (10%) students registered in the Library. College of Health Sciences, 2020 students, 546 (27%) registered. College of Law and Natural and Applied Sciences respectively, had 840 and 450 as students population but, 186 (22.1%) and 48 (10.7%) registered in the library in 2005/2006 academic session. The results showed that 132 (66%). 85 (42.5%) respectively agreed that they made use of the library when they were in Primary and Secondary School. While 68 (34%) 85 (42.5%) respectively do no made use of the library. 76 (38%) registered in the library as undergraduates in the 2005/2006 academic session while 124 (62%) never thought of registering in the library during the academic session in question. Based on the findings, it recommended that proper Fresher' orientations must be embarked upon. The Librarian should be ready to go extra mile by meeting the students at college levels as part of further orientation. Educational exhibition and Library display, purchase of new books and Journals in every discipline is "sin qua non" if the users must be enticed. The computerization of the library and Internet connectivity if achieved will boost the usage or patronage of the library and its collections.

Libraries in Sri Lanka for the process of improving lifelong learning and identify strategies applicable from the e-marketing concept. Use of the web pages as a marketing tool among university libraries were examined by logging onto the homepages of respective libraries of government universities. Contents, strategic links, and the accessibility of these homepages were explored. However, this was not a technological exploration but a view in a marketing perspective. Underutilization of university libraries has become a common issue and it was assumed that implementation of Lifelong learning could address this issue to a certain extent. Orientation of marketing can target the real need of users and retain users as lifelong learners. Web pages can be utilized in university libraries to interact with users, conduct live communication with them, develop information skills among users, and disseminate information directly to relevant-individual or group. The success of this process leads to the proliferation of lifelong learning. Thirteen home pages out of fifteen were Jogged on. Almost all the pages have given priority to include contact details, history, general procedures of the respective library, online public access catalogue, staff details, and free electronic resources etc. Nearly 50% of the libraries have made worthy attempts to link the page with other libraries and information resources available outside. Yet some of these links were not updated or were associated with errors of linking. A few libraries have made satisfactory attempts to include subject gateways, Ask a Librarian facility, Live Chat corners etc. which are helpful to enhance lifelong learning. Lack of authority, limitation of know-how technology, untrained staff, and limited infrastructure facilities were seen as barriers.

Article an attempt in understanding the reference services being provided in the management and business schools in Mumbai and to make a comparative study of digital and traditional reference services being provided. The findings of the study and subsequent recommendations offer full understanding of the reference services scenario in management schools.

Optimized fuzzy-neuro system is proposed to improve performance of scheduling jobs in a wafer fabrication factory (WFF). Fluctuation smoothing rules are normalized. Remaining cycle time of a job is accurately estimated by applying self-organization map with fuzzy back propagation network (SOM-FBPN). Division operator is applied instead of traditional subtraction operator to enhance responsiveness of fuzzy rule. Production simulation using proposed methodology outperformed existing approaches in reducing average cycle time and cycle time standard deviation.

Investigates the library information-seeking behaviour among undergraduate students of agricultural extension and education of Iran. By using stratified proportional random sampling (by Morgan table), 230 persons were selected from four famous universities (Tehran, Shiraz, Mollasani and Kermanshah) of Iran through questionnaires for this study. Reliability was measured by Cronbach-Alpha (a = 0.84), which showed that the reliability of the questionnaires was acceptable. Scale-free technique, Principal Components Analysis method, Eta test, and Correlation and Regression tools were used for data analysis. The findings revealed that awareness of library scientific resources and availability of library resources items were the most important and influenced factors in students' library information-seeking behaviour. Students with higher academic level are generally expected to have higher skills through information-seeking behaviour. On the contrary, this study indicates that the students were not influenced by this. Gaps in the library facilities in different universities (especially total number of related books to field and the number of computers) have direct influence on students' library information-seeking behaviour. Besides, interactions (searching by asking other students and faculty) were the other means students' used for seeking information.

Secondary data collection from a set of retrieved bibliographic records from the literature output in the field of retina from the CD-ROM sources of MEDLINE was studied. The results indicate variability in the authorship pattern, and English language as the major medium in literature output for retina. The contribution of the USA is higher in this subject also in comparison of other countries of the world. The paper also highlights the need of more research in retina-related research.

Study highlights quantitatively the growth and development of world literature on Bhabha Scattering in terms of publication output as per International Nuclear Information System(INIS) (1970-2008), Science Citation Index (1982-2008), and INSPEC (1969-2008) databases. During 1969-2008 a total of 1305 papers were published by the scientists in the field Bhabha Scattering. The average number of papers published per year was 32.62. The highest numbers of papers 66, were published in 1988 and 1997, respectively. There were 47 countries involved in the research in this field. Germany is the top producing country with 421 papers followed by USA with 420 papers, Italy with 293 papers, and Switzerland with 263 papers. Authorship and collaboration trends were towards multi-authored papers. There were 888 (68.05 per cent) collaborative papers. Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Italy, topped the list with 256 papers followed by European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland, with 243 papers. The most preferred journals by the scientists were: Physics Letters-B with 188 papers, Nuclear Physics-B with 91 papers, and Physical Review-D with 90 papers. The high frequency keywords were: Bhabha scattering (731), radiative corrections (215), annihilation (214), electrons (208), positrons (205), and pair production (202).

Like the digital collection of digital repository, it also requires that the content be accessed and distributed as widely as possible to valid users around the globe. Access management and control is one of the major concerns for digital content authority over the Internet. Confidentiality and integrity of information cannot be ensured without a proper access management mechanism. Though most of the Institutional Repositories or Open Access Repositories are satisfied with the current mechanisms of the Open Source Software, which they use to build the repositories, restricted repositories or digital libraries demand more security and authenticity. Discusses the current practices and issues of access management for digital repositories including user authentications, user authorisation, authentication, and the technology of secured digital communication of digital materials. Also gives a basic idea about access management practices in Bangladesh by the digital content providers.
