Author illustrated how the application of autonomous Hamiltonian dynamical system can definitively fix a sign for an otherwise indefinite sign of a certain astrophysical parameter. To illustrate it, considered Mannheim-Kazanas-de Sitter solution of Weyl conformal gravity containing the parameter γ, which is believed to be significant in the galactic halo gravity. However, the sign of γ has so far been ambiguous. The strategy we adopt to fix it is to look for a finite maximum radius up to which the halo supports stable material circular orbits inside the de Sitter radius. The maximum radius for several observed lenses are calculated for both signs of γ, and with the observed value of cosmological constant A. These lenses (all having approximately the Einstein radius R_E - 10²³ cm) consistently yield a maximum radius (R^stable_max - 4-25 x 10²⁷cm) inside the de Sitter radius of the universe only when γ is negative, while a positive γ yields R^stable_max always exceeding the de Sitter radius.

Here, if the queue size is less than the limit c, the server serves the units manually (one at a time), otherwise the server begins batch service and serves the units altogether in a batch. If after a batch service completion epoch, size is less than c then with probability p the server continues to serve in batches and probability (l - p) the server ends batch service and begins manual service. The service are also assumed to be independent and geometrically distributed. The steady state probabilities and some performance measures of the model are computed.

This paper concentrates on the stochastic modeling of a computer system in which software and components have direct independent failure from normal mode. In this model, two identical I units of a computer system are taken together in which one unit is initially operative and the other is kept as cold standby. There is a single server who visits the system immediately to out inspection, h/w repair activities and s/w up-gradation. The unit undergoes for inspection its hardware failure to see the feasibility of repair. If repair of the hardware in the unit is not feasibility, it is replaced by new one with some replacement time. However, if there is a software in the unit, then only up-gradation of the software is made with some up-gradation time. Also priority to s/w up-gradation is given over h/w inspection and repair. The distributions of failure time of hardware and software follow negative exponential while that of inspection, s/w up-gradation and h/w repair times are taken as arbitrary with different probability density functions . Various reliability measures are obtained by adopting semi-Markov process and regenerative technique. The results for a particular case are also evaluated to depict the graphical behaviour of some measures of system effectivenes.

This paper addresses the estimation of Coefficient of Variation in a finite population when the are selected using PPSWR scheme. Two estimators are proposed and the mean square error of these estimators are derived to the order of O(n^-1). In many situations, applied researchers use an estimator based on SRS scheme for the estimation of the parameter when the samples are using any other design. 23 estimators of C.V derived under SRS scheme are proposed as of C.V under PPS scheme. Extensive simulation indicates that regression estimator using population variance of the auxiliary variable emerges as the best estimator. Sample C. V also as one of the best estimator and outperforms the estimators exclusively derived under PPA Scheme. Many estimators proposed under SRS scheme are efficient estimators of C.V under scheme. This finding gives a theoretical justification for the common practice among the researchers regarding the estimation of C.V.

Moreover, a 1-fold OD-characterizable group is simply called an OD-characterizable group. Till now a lot of finite simple groups were shown to be OD characterizable, and also some finite groups especially the automorphism groups of some finite simple groups were shown not being OD-characterizable but k-fold OD-characterizable for some k <62> 1. In the present paper, the authors continue this topic and show that the automorphism groups of orthogonal groups O⁺₁₀(2) and O^-₁₀(2) are OD-characterizable.

The main object of this work is to obtain a numerical solution of the boundary layer equation using Karman- Pohlhausen' s method for magneto hydrodynamic flow of power-law fluid. The analysis for the flow near the stagnation point is obtained, and we observed the effect of magnetic field on the boundary layer thickness, the velocity and the shear stress on the plate.

Multivariate hypergeometric functions associated with toric varieties were introduced by Gel'fand, Kapranov and Zelevinsiky. Singularities of such functions are discriminants, that is, divisors projectively dual to torus orbit closures. We show that most of these potential denominators never appear in rational hypergeometric functions. We conjecture that the denominator of any rational hypergeometricfunction is a product of resultants, that is, a product of special discriminants arising from Cayley confingurations. This conjecture is proved for toric hypersurface and for toric varieties of dimension at most three. Toric residues are applied to show that every toric resultants appears in the denominator of some rational hypergeometric function.

It is being used in all sorts of small to big structures like, railway sleepers, buildings, nuclear reactors, bridges etc. In prestressed concrete high tensile strength steel bars are used which are called tendon or prestressing cable. For realistic analysis of prestressed concrete beams. in this study, prestressing cable is modeled by B-spline curve and for further analysis finite element method is used. Finite element analysis is a numerical technique in which a chain of mathematical operation takes place. In any computer based analysis, errors accumulate due to various sources like input data, processing, truncation or round-off. To minimize these errors higher precision computational analysis is required which is time consuming and required more memory space. Artificial neural network is non linear statistical data modeling tool which can be used to model complex relationship between inputs an.d outputs. In this study, with the help of neural network, error models are developed which will predict error in single precision computation for given input parameters (Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus). Effect of friction is also taken into account.

In secure communication password based three party encrypted key exchange (3PEKE) protocols have become significant due to the simplicity of maintaining human memorable passwords. In 2007, Lu and Cao proposed a simple and efficient three party password based authenticated key exchange (S-3PAKE) protocol. In 2008, Guo et al. found that S-3PAKE protocol has some loop holes and attacked by man in the middle attack and online dictionary attack. They proposed an improved protocol by which two side users individually implement 2-PAKE protocol to obtain message authentication codes (MAC) prior to creating a shared session key. Recently, Yang el al. proposed an effective 3PAKE protocol without requiring the execution of 2 PAKE protocol. In this paper, we demonstrate that Yang et al. 's protocol is vulnerable to undetectable on-line password guessing attacks and off-line password guessing attacks. Besides, we also propose a new three party EKE protocol which not only is secure against the guessing attacks but also satisfies the formal security proof by A VISPA.

For large values of the wavenumber k in the direction of cylinder, there is only one trapped wave. We construct asymptotics of these trapped modes and their frequencies as k → ∞ in the case of one submerged cylinder into a plane water layer by means of reducing the initial problem to three integral equations on the boundaries and then solving them using a method suggested by Zhevandrov and Merzon.

The flow through a porous medium has been of considerable interest in recent years particularly among geophysical fluid dynamicity. An example in the geophysical context is the recovery of crude oil from the pores of reservoir rocks. The instability of the plane interface between two uniform superposed and streaming fluids through porous medium has been investigated by Sharma and Spanos. More recently, Sharma et al. have studied the thermosolutal convection in Rivlin-Ericksen fluid in porous medium in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field. The initial stationary state, whose stability we wish to examine is that of an incompressible elastico-viscous Rivlin-Ericksen fluid in which there is a horizontal streaming in the x-direction with velocity U(z) through a homogeneous, isotropic porous medium. The governing equations were averaged using the volume averaging technique. This technique has been used widely for flow in porous media. It was demonstrated by William and O'Neill (1976), that averaging technique can be applied to various transport processes in porous media. It is interesting to note from above that for the special case when perturbations in the direction of streaming are ignored, the system is unstable for potentially unstable configuration and the system is stable for potentially stable configuration and not depending upon kinematic viscoelasticity, medium porosity and medium permeability. A great number of applications in geophysics may be found in a recent book by Phillips. The gross effect when the fluid slowly percolates through the pores of the rock is given by Darcy's law.

The ancient Greek mathematician Thales of Miletus devised a method to make large measurements like the heights of pyramids. The straightedge or ruler construction of multiplication can be traced back to this method of Thales. The ruler construction also exists for addition. In this article, author indicate how the comparison between these two constructions leads to Lie theory, a device created by Lie to reduce the multiplicative problems to the additive ones. It is hoped that this enhances the interest in these two themes.

By using descriptions of six computational algorithms, adduced in this paper, one is able to generate four different types of integer partitions of natural number N: without any restrictions, with the fixed number of parts and without any other restrictions, without repeating the elements and without any other restrictions, without repeating the elements and with the fixed number of parts. For every type of partitions, the generating partitions may be performed of natural numbers series from 1 to N, truncated natural numbers series from N, to N2 and any arbitrary given set of numbers. In the last section of this article, some ways, suitable for translating the verbal descriptions of the computational algorithm into computer-oriented languages, are discussed.

Numerical technique is employed to derive a solution to the transient natural convection flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past an impulsively started Infinite isothermal vertical plate with uniform mass flux in the presence of magnetic field and homogeneous chemical reaction of first order. The governing equations are solved using implicit finite-difference method. The effect of velocity, temperature and concentration for different parameters like magnetic field parameter, chemical reaction parameter, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, thermal Grashof number and mass Grashof number are studied. It is observed that the fluid velocity decreases with increasing chemical reaction parameter and magnetic field parameter.
