The simple improvement of the shift cipher we aimed in this paper is to encipher more than twice which guarantee more security of information being sent across a communication channel. We adopt the more radical solution to the problem of key sharing developed by Diffie-Hellman, 1970, and demonstrate how keys can be exchanged by Romeo and Juliet. The exchange was done twice; the first being a single key while the second exchange was two different keys, making a total of three keys. Finally, we showed how the shift (Caesar) cipher can be modeled mathematically using transpositions in symmetric group, a set of all bijections of an object onto itself.

With the aim of achieving stable operation of circular saws, this study finds the solution for the optimization problem that involves choosing a set of tensioning parameters in a rotating circular saw that is subjected to both a local temperature distribution and the in-plane plastic strain over a double annular domain. The solution for the in-plane forces is obtained on the basis of plate bending theory, and modal analysis for the out-of-plane behavior affected by the in-plane forces is performed. Numerical calculations are performed to investigate the effects of tensioning over the double annular domain on the natural frequencies. The optimization problem to maximize the natural frequency of the most critical mode with respect to the intensities, locations, and widths of tensioning is solved using a genetic algorithm, and the optimal tensioning parameters are determined at computational costs that are considerably lower than those required for 100% inspection.

Presents mathematical model for the dynamics of glucose regulatory system under combined use of dieting and physical activity, the model is an improvement on the work by Brian et al (2000). In the proposed model, we incorporated a parameter h by defining itin terms of; physical activity and dieting (calorie restriction) as factors that affects glucose and insulin homeostasis. The study ushered in a mathematical model for studying the dynamics of the glucose regulation under the combined effect of dieting (calorie restriction) and physical activity. The model was used to investigate the effect of dieting and physical activity on glucose and insulin homeostasis, The result of the study showed that; dieting and physical activity has great impact on the regulation of plasma glucose and insulin concentration, and that dieting and physical activity can be used on any population for the management of glucose and insulin homeostasis: Furthermore, the study corroborates the clinical trial studies by Margarita et al (2005), Jean (1999), that; dieting and physical activity improves insulin and glucose effectiveness on a wider scope rather than on a specific population as required by clinical trial studies. In conclusion, 1) Medical practitioners should encourage a combined physical activity and calorie restriction therapy for the management of diabetes, 2) Government, NGO 's, and stake holders should improve on investment in physical activity facilities and production of low calorie diet for diabetic patients. Such therapy will attenuate the development of diabetes and transition from diabetes without complications to diabetes with complications in a diabetic population.

However, the asymptotic covariance matrix is hard to estimate, which complicates inference. Then, we propose an alternative method based on smoothed empirical likelihood and we show that the limiting distribution of the smoothed empirical likelihood ratio statistic is Chi-squared distribution. Accordingly, the confidence region can be obtained without requiring estimating the complicate asymptotic covariance matrix. Finally, we perform Monte Carlo experiments to evaluate the proposed method.

Such data are referred to 'masked data' in the literature since the exact cause of failure is masked from view. In this paper, we consider 3-component series systems when the lifetime of each component follows a family of lifetime distribution which covers several life time distributions as special cases. We have obtained the maximum likelihood and Bayes estimators of reliability function of different components in the presence of 'masked' and 'partially masked' data. To show how one can use the result for any real life problem we have presented simulation study.

Analysis is presented for the problem of heat transfer in a steady laminar stagnation point flow of an incompressible electrically conducting micropolar fluid impinging on a permeable flat plate with uniform suction/injection. A uniform magnetic field is applied normal to the plate. The effect of viscous dissipation is taken into account. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations. A numerical solution is obtained for the ordinary differential equations using the computational software Matlab. Results are shown in graphical form. The effect of the uniform suction or injection, magnetic parameter, material parameter on the flow and heat transfer are presented and discussed.

Considered the problem of estimation of π_A, the proportion of human population possessing the sensitive attribute A, using the Mahmood et al. (1998) randomized response Technique-I. The suggested class allows for the improvement in efficiency due to the proposed recommendation. A family of estimators π_M,λ of population proportion π_A is defined. Bias and mean squared error of the proposed family of estimators are obtained for performance evaluation. A family of optimum estimators is also defined. Since the optimum estimator depends on the unknown value of the constant λ, it needs to be estimated. So from the practical point of view, various estimators of π_A based on different estimated optimum values of λ have been proposed with their properties. Efficiencies of all the considered estimators are worked out numerically which indicate that proposal of the study is quite effective to enhance the performance of proportion estimator.

This paper also presents need for indirect/small area estimation methods. The exact solution for the velocity of fluid has been obtained by using integral transform technique. Some particular cases of pressure gradient have been discussed in detail. Also we have discussed the case when porous medium is withdrawn. Besides, the corresponding viscous flow problem has been derived as a limiting case when the relaxation time parameter tends to become zero. We have also derived the case when porous medium is withdrawn i.e. if K = ∞.

Unsteady incompressible free convection boundary layer equations in two dimensions, with heat transfer have been solved numerically using finite difference method. The unsteady free convection flow with flow control parameter effect is presented in this work. The governing second order differential equations are derived from the fluid motion (Navier-Stokes equation) and heat conduction (energy equation) equations. Mathematical formulation of boundary layer equations have been non-dimensional zed by using dimensionless variables. These non-dimensional boundary layer equations are non-linear and partial differential equations and are solved by finite difference method. The fluid particles such as air (P_r 0.71), water at 20°C (P_r =0.70) and salt water (P_r = 1.0) are considered. In different Eckert numbers and for various Grashoff numbers as well as Prandlt numbers, the results of velocity and temperature are displayed in the form of level curves for both the temperature and velocity function.

Based on the well-known occupancy problem, a simple and effective estimation algorithm is presented that can offer a relatively good estimate accuracy without complex computation for inferring the amount of radio frequency identification tags present simultaneously in the same field. An approximate model for the expected number of collided slots in occupancy problem is used to develop the estimation scheme and a piecewise curve-fitting technique is employed to simplify the representation of the model and thus ease the computation burden for the model. By computer simulation, the results show that the proposed algorithm can provide relatively accurate estimation with much less computation demand as compared with other similar estimation scheme.

Using this distribution function for the threshold level, the expected time to Seroconversion and its variance are derived.

The concept of stations in series has,been used to find the optimal quantity of semi finished products between two machines in series. This problem can be extended to the case of three machines in series and in such a case the reserve S₁ is the quantity of semi finished product generated by M₁ and S₂ stands for the quantity of semi finished product by M₂. In this paper the optimal size of the reserves S₁ and S₂ are obtained under the assumption that the break down duration of the first machine M₁ is a random variable distributed as first order statistic.

The concepts of hyper chromatic number and X-chromatic number were introduced by Hedetniemi et al. in [2], Given any three positive integers a, b, c such that a ≤ b ≤ c, we prove the existence of the graph with χ(G) = a, χX (G) = b and χXcd(G) = c and give the bipartite version of color class domination of a graph G = (V, E).
