An algorithm has been proposed for solving a multi-objective linear plus fractional programming problem (MOL+FPP) when some of its constraints are homogeneous in nature. In the algorithm, a transformation matrix T which transforms the given problem into another MOL+FPP with fewer constraints has been constructed. Then a relationship between these two problems which ensures that the solution of the original problem can be recovered from the solution of the transformed problem is established. We repeat this process of transformation until all the homogeneous constraints are removed. An example is also given to support the proposed model.

Problem of scheduling is concerned with searching for an optimal (or near-optimal) schedule subject to a number of constraints. A variety of approaches have been developed to solve the problem of scheduling. However, many of these approaches are often impractical in dynamic real-world environments where there are complex constraints and a variety of unexpected disruptions. In most real-world environments, scheduling is an ongoing reactive process where the presence of real-time information continually forces reconsideration and revision of pre-established schedules. Scheduling research has largely ignored this problem, focusing instead on optimization of static schedules. This paper outlines the limitations of static approaches to scheduling in the presence of real-time information and presents the issues that have come up in recent years on dynamic scheduling. The paper deals with the problem of scheduling taking single transport facility between two machines in which the transport agent takes to return on 1st machine after delivering the job on 2nd. The processing times of jobs are in real time i.e. in fuzzy environment.

Frobenius method is employed for the solution of the resulting differential equation of motion. The different sets of the values of non homogeneity parameter, taper constant, damping and foundation modulus have been taken into account to compute the frequency parameter for clamped and simply supported edge conditions of the plate corresponding to the first two modes of vibration.

The problem of a finite hairline straight crack weakening an infinite homogeneous elastic perfectly-plastic plate is considered. The plate is subjected to uniform constant unidirectional tension which is applied to it at infinite boundary. Consequently, face of crack open in Mode-1 type deformation forming plastic zones ahead of the tip of the crack. To stop the crack from further extension rims of the plastic zones are subjected to normal cohesive, stress distribution P_yx = (It³+mt²+nt+c), P, = Q, where T is any point on any of the developed plastic zones and I, m, n, c are real constants. Solution of the above problem is obtained by superimposing the solution of two component problems, appropriately derived from the original problem. Westergaard technique is applied to solve the component problems. A quantitative analysis is carried out to study the behavior of load required to close the developed plastic zones in different cases, with respect to affecting parameters. Results obtained are analyzed and graphically reported.

Analysis is carried out to study the MHD heat transfer characteristics in the laminar boundary layer of a visco-elastic fluid over a non isothermal stretching sheet with internal heat generation in a porous medium. An analysis has been carried out for two different cases of heating processes namely; (i) prescribed power law surface temperature (PST) and (ii) prescribed power law surface heat flux (PHF), to get the effect of visco-elastic parameter for various situations. Further increase of visco-elastic parameter is to increase the skin friction. The governing equations for this problem are reduced to ordinary non-linear differential equations by introducing similarity transformations. The non-linear differential equations are then solved analytically by series method after applying perturbation technique and results are expressed in terms of Kummer' s function.

Paper proposes the strategy of optimizing constrained multi-item inventory problems under fuzzy environment using a Genetic Algorithm (GA). The GA is used in the sense that it is computationally simple yet powerful in its search for improvement. The typical inventory analysis is sensitive to reasonable errors in the measurement of relevant inventory costs. Therefore the inventory costs are assumed to be vague and imprecise in this paper. The objective of minimizing the total inventory cost and the constraints' goals are also imprecise in nature. The impreciseness in these variables has been represented by fuzzy linear membership functions. Numerical examples have been worked out to highlight the method, and the results are compared with those of corresponding crisp models. Sensitivity analysis has also been presented for one of the examples.

In this paper, a numerical example of eight-supply chain scenarios with five criteria are considered and the scenarios are ranked through FAHP, which takes care of vagueness in the subjective judgements.

Discusses recent advances in the fluid dynamics of insect flight and considers theoretical analyses necessary for their future development. Theoretically, the fluid dynamic description is based on: (i) the superposition of the unsteady contributions of wing pitching, plunging and sweeping; and (ii) adding corrections due to the bound leading-edge vortex and wake distortion. Viscosity is accounted for indirectly by imposing the Kutta condition on the trailing edge and including the influence of the vertical structure on the leading edge. In this paper, mathematically, an analytic approach is proposed. It derives all the quantities of interest from the notion of circulation and leads to tractable integral equation. This is an application of the von Karman-Sears unsteady wing theory and its nonlinear extensions due to McCune and Taveres; the latter can account for the bound leading-edge vortex and wake distortion. The paper also discusses connections of the proposed analytical approach with aeroelasticity.

To demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method important problems of the Calculus of Variations with fixed boundaries are solved. This paper propose the method for constructing the membership functions of the system performance measure of finite capacity queuing system where the arrival rate, service rate are fuzzy numbers. By using a-cut approach the fuzzy queue with finite capacity is transformed into crisp queue with finite capacity. A pair of parametric non-linear programmes are developed to describe the crisp finite capacity queue through which the membership functions of the system performance measures are derived. Two fuzzy queues often encountered in real life are served as example. Since the performance measures are expressed by the membership functions rather than crisp values more informations are provided for designing queuing systems in real life.

A general assignment problem includes N tasks that must be assigned to N workers where each worker has the competence to do all tasks. The objective is to assign each task a proper worker so that the total resource spending to finish all tasks can be minimized. A fuzzy concept for minimizing the cost assignment problem is demonstrated. An efficient method is given for finding the nearly optimum solution. Finally a numerical example is given to show the efficiency of the method.

For any graph G = (V, E), semi total block graph T_b(G) = H, whose set of vertices is the union of the set of vertices and blocks of G in which two vertices are adjacent if and only if the corresponding vertices of G are adjacent or the corresponding members are incident. An entire dominating set X of a graph H is an entire semi total block (ESB) dominating set if every element not in X is either adjacent or incident to at least one element in X. An entire semi total block (ESB) domination number ε_1b(G) of G is the minimum cardinality of an entire semi total block (ESB) dominating set of G. In this paper many bounds on ε_1b(G) are obtained in terms of elements of G. Also its relationship with other domination parameters is investigated.

In this paper, we obtain some new sufficient conditions for judging nonsingular H-matrices by using some subclasses of H-matrices.
