Considered a survival model that generalizes proportional hazard models very well known in reliability and survival analysis. Under reasonable assumptions a medical model is fitted with the distribution. Chronic stress leads to suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary gonadal axis with decreased plasma LH concentrations. For finding serum Luteinizing hormone concentrations, the administration of Naloxone produced a transient but significant increase in immuno-radiometric LH levels compared to the NS control value and other cases also verified in the medical (sec-5) and mathematical part (sec-6) and conclusion is obtained.

It is well known that asteroids are small rocky bodies. Most of the asteroids are much smaller when compared with the planets. Typically most are irregularly shaped elongated bodies. The main feature of these bodies is their elongated shape. This is the reason why we have taken their elongated shape, namely, a finite straight segment and investigated the stationary solutions in the restricted three body problem when the smaller primary is a finite straight segment. The linear stability of all the stationary solutions have been investigated by the method given by Whittaker [I] and Szebehely [2]. The collinear stationary solutions are unstable for all mass parameter μ whereas the non-collinear stationary solutions are stable for mass parameter μ less than a critical value μ_c = μ_o - 0.0073562². The theory, so developed, has been applied to the asteroids 9 Metis (9 is the number of the asteroid Metis), 22 Kalliope, 216 Kleopatra, 243 Ida, 433 Eros and 951 Gaspra.

Most queuing problems are centered about the question of finding levels of services that a system should provide. Flow shop scheduling with the objective of minimizing the makespan is also an important task in manufacturing system. This paper is an attempt to establish a linkage between a complex queuing network in which a common server is linked in series with each of two systems, one containing two Biserial servers and other with three parallel servers and a flow shop system consisting of two machines in series. In queue network, the arrival and service pattern both follows Poisson law. The completion time (waiting time + service time) of jobs (customers) will be the setup time for first machine in flow shop scheduling system. The objective of the paper is to develop an algorithm minimizing the total elapsed time with minimum completion time for this proposed queuing scheduling linkage model. A numerical illustration followed by a computer programme is also given to substantiate the proposed algorithm.

It is found that each of the basic reproduction numbers decreases as the rate of awareness increases. This makes the rate of awareness to control the disease effectively. The rate of awareness not only decreases the basic reproduction number but also decreases infected population density. If the awareness can be developed in the population at the larger extent such that basic reproduction number becomes smaller than one then the each of the disease can be eliminated from the population.

Due to the ill-defined and vague indicators which exist within flexibility assessment, most measures are described subjectively by linguistic terms which are characterized by ambiguity and multi-possibility, and the conventional assessment approaches cannot suitably nor effectively handle such measurement. However, fuzzy logic provides a useful tool for dealing with decisions in which the phenomena are imprecise and vague. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between manufacturing flexibility and profitability due to increased capacity of manufacturing system.

It is well known that smooth periodic functions can be expanded into Fourier series and can be approximated by trigonometric polynomials. The purpose of this paper is to do Fourier analysis for smooth functions on planar domains. A planar domain can often be divided into some trapezoids with curved sides, so first we do the Fourier analysis for smooth functions on trapezoids with curved sides. And will show that any smooth function on a trapezoid with curved sides can be expanded into Fourier sine series with simple polynomial factors, and so it can be well approximated by a combination of sine polynomials and simple polynomials. Then we consider the Fourier analysis on the global domain. Finally, we extend these results to the three-dimensional case.

Adult worms and microfilariae survived for 30 and 70 days, respectively in white rats experimentally infected with Setaria cervi which clearly indicates that this parasite of buffalo does not cause severe pathological condition in white rats and the worm do not show any indication of early and complete rejection by the host. It may therefore considered to be the better model for the experimental studies as compared to rabbits and guniea pigs where survival period of both adult worms as well as microfilariae is short. Host reaction was manifested in the form of cell infiltration around the caseated worms. As for differential leucocyte count is concerned there was an early rise in eosinophils and neutrophils with subsequent decline after second and third week, respectively. A reversal mechanism was observed for lymphocytes which showed a decline up to third week followed by a steady rise till eighth week. Neutrophils showed rise in count during first three weeks and there after showed almost uniform decline up to eighth week. Normal blood count was regained after 10-11 weeks.

New method is presented for solving a non-linear equation f(x) = 0. The method is derived from the Newton-Raphson tangent method using the ideas of Aitken and Steffensen [5]. It is quadratically convergent and depends on a real parameter k. The classical Newton-Raphson method appears as the limiting case when k → 0. The new method does not require the computation of f'(x). It is shown that for a convex (concave) function f(x) and suitably chosen small value of k the method converges faster than the classical Newton-Raphson method with the same initial approximation.

We also recall some examples, due to Raynaud and Monsky, to show that some lower bound on p is necessary. So, Reliability is the most important factor to be considered in such environment. The present piece of research suggests an approach for how the reliability of a distributed system gets affected with the introduction of probability of failure density in the execution and communication process. In the research, a study has been carried out on 'm' different tasks with different sizes, which have been executed on 'n' different processors (where m <62> n, as generally the scenario is) along with their different communication rates, with the assumption of a minute chance of failure. In this scenario, the reliability of the distributed system is calculated for different task combinations and thus the most reliable solution is determined from the obtained values of 'm' and 'n' and found workable in all possible cases.

The influence of buoyancy, heat absorption, thermal radiation and Soret effects are taking into account embedded with slip, convective boundary condition. The closed-form analytical solutions are obtained for the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions and the significant governing parameters are obtained numerically and illustrated graphically. The effect of shear stress, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are obtained at the walls and presented in tables.

Effects of finite Larmor radius (FLR), collisions and Hall currents are investigated on thermosolutal instability of a partially ionized plasma in porous medium in the presence of a uniform vertical magnetic field. In the case of stationary convection, finite Larmor radius, Hall currents, medium permeability and magnetic field may have stabilizing or destabilizing effects but for a certain wave number range, FLR, magnetic field and Hall currents have stabilizing effect only. The stable solute gradient always has a stabilizing effect on the system whereas collisional effects disappear in the case of stationary convection. It is found that the presence of each-magnetic field, FLR, Hall currents and collisions introduces oscillatory modes which were, otherwise, non-existent.

Blood flow through a radially non-symmetric stenosed artery has been investigated in this paper. Blood has been represented by a nun-Newtonian fluid obeying Herschel-Bulkley equation. It is observed that the resistance to flow increases as stenosis height increases and decreases as stenosis shape increases. The variations of wall shear stress with axial distance for different values of index behavior (n) and stenosis shape (s) has been shown graphically. Wall shear stress at the mid point of stenosis increases as yield stress increases.

A prime cordial labeling of a graph G with vertex set V is a bijection f from V to {1, 2, 3, ..., |v|} such that each edge uv is assigned the label 1 if gcd(f(u), f(v)) = 1 and 0 if gcd(f(u),f(v)) <62> 1, and the number of edges labeled with 0 and the number of edges labeled with 1 differ almost by 1. In this paper we construct some graphs that satisfy prime labeling and prime cordial labeling and also exhibit few general results on prime cordial graphs.

In this paper authors consider the viscoelastic fluid to be modeled as a generalized Maxwell fluid and study the flow starting from rest due to the rotation of the cylinder around its axis with a velocity of constant angular acceleration. The velocity field as well as the adequate shear stress, obtained by means of the Laplace and Hankel transforms, is presented under series form in terms of the generalized G-functions. The similar solutions for ordinary Maxwell fluids as well as those for Newtonian fluids, performing the same motion, are obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions.

In this chapter we have analyze the mixed convective heat and mass transfer flow of a viscous electrically conducting fluid through a porous medium in a cylindrical annulus in the presence of a constant heat source of strength Q. The governing non-linear partial differential equations are highly coupled and are converted in to ordinary differential equations using non-dimensional variables, and are solved by using regular perturbation method. The velocity, temperature and concentrations are calculated for different values of the parameters entering into the problem and are shown graphically.

The problem of the identified minimum (I, T) is then to find if its joint distribution determines uniquely X. This problem is solved here in the affirmative. To the best of our knowledge, it was first solved in the bivariate normal case (and partially in the tri-variate normal case) in 1978 in [1].

The governing non linear partial differential equations and their boundary conditions are reduced into a system of ordinary differential equations by a similarity transformation. This system is solved numerically using Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with shooting technique. The behavior of the velocity, temperature, concentration, skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number for variations in the governing thermo physical parameters are computed, analyzed and discussed.

Study the structure of split Malcev algebras of arbitrary dimension over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We show that any such algebras M is of the form M = U + Σ_j I_j with U a subspace of the abelian Malcev subalgebra H and any I_j a well described ideal of M satisfying [I_j, I_k] = 0 if j ≠ k. Under certain conditions, the simplicity of M is characterized and it is shown that M is the direct SUE of a semisimple split Lie algebra and a direct sum of simple non-Lie Malcev algebras.

In this paper, author find the generating function which counts the members of P(n, k) according to the number of descents of size d or more, where d ≥ 1 is fixed. An explicit expression in terms of Stirling numbers of the second kind may be given for the total number of such descents in all the members of P(n, k). We also compute the generating function for the statistics recording the number of ascents of size d or more and show that it has the same distribution on P(n, k) as the prior statistics for descents when d ≥ 2, by both algebraic and combinatorial arguments.

In this paper we introduce the concept of {H_i}_{i ∈ I}-super edge-magic decomposable graphs and {H_i}_{i ∈ I}-super edge-magic labelings. Authors say that G is {H_i}_{i ∈ I}-super edge-magic decomposable if there is a bijec-tion β : V(G) → {1. 2, ..., |V(G)|} such that for each i ∈ I the subgraph Hi meets the following two requirements: β(V(H_i)) = {1, 2, ..., |V(H_i)|} and {β(a) + β(b) : ab ∈ E(H_i)} is a set of consecutive integers. Such function (i is called an {H_i}_{i ∈ I}-super edge-magic labeling of G. We characterize the set of cycles C_n which are {H₁, H₂}-super edge-magic decomposable when both. H₁ and H₂ are isomorphic to (n/2)K₂. New lines of research are also suggested.

In this paper, some sufficient conditions for a normal subgroup of a finite group to be solvable are given based on the assumption that some maximal subgroups are semi CAP*-subgroups.
