Every uniform space has uniform invariants such as completeness, total boundedness which are not proximal invariants. For example, every Efremovic proximity has a compatible totally bounded uniformity U*; so total boundedness cannot be characterized by an Efremovic proximity. A question arises: is it possible to characterize a uniform invariant in terms of proximities? In this paper, restricting to a metric space, we consider several compatible proximities and show that some of the well known uniform invariants can be characterized by pairs of proximities.

Intertidal drift wood samples were collected from Muthupet mangrove environment, South East Coast of Tamil Nadu, India, The wood samples were examined for fungi by plating method culturing in sea water Potato Dextrose Agar Medium. A total number of 27 species of fungi belonging to 7 genera were recorded. Most of them were Deuteromycetes except Rhizopus. Out of 27 species Aspergillus niger was found to be dominant fungus followed by Aspergillus fumigatus and A. flaws. Thus the intertidal driftwood along Tamil Nadu East Coast yield impressive diversity of fungi.

A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) season of 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 on wheat (Triticum aestivum L. emend Fiori and Paul) lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) and Indian mustard (Brasica juncea (L) Czern. And Cosson) intercropping systems with different row rtios (in row replacement series) to work out the most remunerative cropping systems in diara land of eastern U.P. under rainfed condition. Intercropping of lentil with mustard in row ratio of 4:1 was at par with same crops grown in 6:1 row ratio recorded the significantly higher wheat equivalent to yield (35.91 q/ha) net return (Rs. 9980/ha). This system also produced highest benefits cost ratio (3.38), land equivalent ratio (1.39), monetry advantage (Rs. 3627/ha). Relative value total (1.17) and Relative net return (1.53) closely followed by lentil + mustard intercropping in 6:1 row ratio indicated better compatibility and yield advantage of this inter cropping system under diara land condition.

Reports my investigations on the problem of representing a hypergraph by a family of subsets of a nonempty set X that has a set of subfamilies each of which satisfies a given property [P, particularly when [P] is given to be the whole-intersection property. This has led to a generalization of the notion of an intersection graph and that of the intersection number of a graph to hypergraph theory. It is proved that every simple hypergraph is whole-intersection representable and hence an attainable upper bound on the whole-intersection number of a finite simple hypergraph is obtained. FVom the proof of this representation theorem, the idea of constellar hypergraph C(H) of a To-hypergraph is motivated. The self-constellar hypergraphs (i.e., hypergraphs H for which C(H) ≅ H) are determined and it is shown that every simple hypergraph is contractible on to a self-constellar hypergraph. The notion of whole-intersection representation of a hypergraph is seen to enable one to derive various new hypergraphs from a given hypergraph. Especially, investigation on the line hypergraph L (H) appears to be promising.

Thus many times we arrive at the situation where it is either not possible or very tedious to consider all failure modes of the system during failure analysis. So we require some tools with the help of that we can avoid few of the failure modes that do not cause serious deterioration of the system. In the present paper we have developed an algorithm to screen out different failure modes. In this process of screening we first obtain the possibility of occurrence of that failure mode and then compare this possibility with the critical value (CV) taken in that problem. If the possibility of failure mode is larger than the critical value (CV), then this failure mode is taken for final expert system analysis otherwise it is dropped. Present Paper is devoted to the study of the functional behaviour of cardiac pacemaker. All failure-causing factors have been divided in four categories decisive factors, specific factors, momentous factors and related factors. There are five failure causing factors namely voltage of lithium-iodine cell, refractory index, impedance of the pacing circuit, Temperature, Distance of pacemaker from cellular phone.

Image formation is an important features in Neural Network.But the detection of corner position for the formation of binary gray image has an important aspect in the present day. In this present paper we have made an attempt to develope network model to detect corner points in the polygonal surfaces in the formation of binary grary images. In the network model a pair of nodes corresponds to a pixel in the image. The output of the pair of nodes together represents the corner vector of the corresponding pixel by using neighborhood information. After the network dynamics settles to stable state the dominant points are obtained by finding out the local maxima in the cornerities. The theoretical investigations are made to study the stability and convergence of the network for the detection of corner position in image formation. The dynamics of the network is then extended to accept the cornering information to form binary images by embedding the edge strength information. A grace performance by the network is observed for the binary images.

The two topologies have the same bound-cdness, compactness and weak compactness characteristics; under the new topology œ00 is complete but lacks most weak barrclledness properties. Space as a space of continuous functions on a certain pseudocompact, locally compact space and show that its topology is a Mackey topology.

Steady plane MHD flows of an incompressible rotating viscous fluid with infinite electrical conductivity through porous media have been considered. Results from differential geometry have been employed to recast the basic equations in (φ, Ψ) co-ordinates, where the lines Ψ = constant are streamlines and the lines φ = constant are magnetic lines. Lastly, the solutions have been obtained for radial and vortex flows.

Dertain linear positive operators and study some approximation properties of these operators in the space of functions, continuous on a compact set, of two variables. We also find the ordes of this approximation by using modulus of continuity. Moreover we define an rth order generalization of these operators and observe its approximation properties. Furthermore, we study the convergence of the linear positive operators in a weighted space of functions of two variables and find the rate of this convergence using weighted modulus of continuity.

Investigation is concerned with Gaver's parallel system with standby units and with provision of two repairmen: In real life situations it is not necessary that only one machine falls at a time; that is why we consider the failure in bulk. Two cases have been considered namely (i) variable bulk size and (ii) constant bulk size. Each operative unit has a constant failure rate and a deterministic repair time. We discuss the total joint idle time of both repairmen during the survival time of the system, which requires the solution of delay-differential equation. The numerical results are also obtained for some particular values of pararneters.

Most of the matter in the universe can, in some form or other, be treated as a fluid and in several phenomena such as supernova explosions, jets in extragalactic radio sources, accretions onto neutron stars and black holes, high-energy particle beams, high-energy nuclear collisions etc. undergoes the relativistic motion. In the general relativity the matter content of the spacetime is described by the energy-momentum tensor which is determined from physical considerations dealing with the distribution of the matter and energy. Since the matter content of the universe is assumed to behave like a perfect fluid in the standard cosmo-logical model, the physical motivation for studying Lorentzian manifolds is the assumption that a gravitational field may be effectively modelled by some Lorentzian metric defined on a suitable four dimensional manifold which is called the general relativistic spacetime. The object is to study a type of a general relativistic spacetime with vanishing and as well as the divergence free W₂-curvature tensor.

It is proved that if the set Op = {a ε R/ab = 0 for some b ε R} has the IFP (Insertion of Factors Property) for every minimal prime ideal P of R, then Op ⊆ P for each minimal prime ideal P of R if and only if the ring R is a 2-primal ring. An example is also provided which indicates that if Op ⊆ P for each minimal prime ideal P of R, then R need not be a 2-primal ring which is an open question in [6].
