The LMT consists of a standard decision tree structure with logistic regression functions at the leaves but high performance techniques for supervised learning and new method for classification in image processing. The amount of 300 images is used in the experiment where can be classified Isan Dhamma character effectively. The mean correct classified rate was 83.33%.

This work proposed a parallel paradigm to speedup the calculation for the analysis of individual admixture for individual identification by genetic data. The calculation is developed from the Frappe program. The calculation method is based on a likelihood calculation, which requires a large number of iterations to obtain the solution. The likelihood calculation is performed using expectation maximization (EM). The approach is developed to utilize the calculation power on parallel machines. Multicore processors are suitable because they are widely available with reasonable cost. Our software can achieve speedup of the calculation 3-fold with 4-core processors. The program was implemented with a 64-bit multicore processor to improve the performance on large datasets. The algorithm was adapted to the multiprocessor architecture. The program also has a milestone feature allowing it to re-execute from the previous stop point which is very important for a long running job.

Pneumonia is an infection of one or both lungs which is usually caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Each year, pneumonia attack kills about 1.4 million people in the world, especially among children who are also the main sufferers of the disease. The aim of this study was to examine the factors that are associated directly or indirectly in pneumonia patients among the children. In this present paper, we have considered several regressions model to fit the count data that encounter in the field of Health Sciences. We have fitted Poisson, Negative Binomial (NB), Zero-Inflated Poisson (ZIP) and Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial (ZINB) regressions to pneumonia data. To compare the performance of these models, we analysed data with moderate to high percentage of zero counts. Because the variances were almost two times greater than the means, it appeared that both NB and ZINB models performed better than Poisson and ZIP models for the zero inflated and overdispersed count data. From the results of the ZINB regression can overcome overdispersion so it was better than the Poisson regression model.

In 1950's Han's Peter Luhn formulated the Luhn formula (algorithm) to solve information storage and retrieval problem. This formula has been given worldwide application such as in the credit card numbers where it uniquely identifies an account to its respective owner among other applications. Insecurity and fraud cases associated with the credit cards have necessitated the need to analyze the algorithm error detection and correction capabilities. It is known that the transposition of digits 09 for 90 cannot be detected. The paper analyzes the detection of this transposition error and discusses key considerations in algorithm development to avoid such an error.

Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models are widely used for analyzing the time-series data. In this approach, the underlying parameters are assumed to be constant but in reality this assumption is rarely met. In agriculture, the data that are generally collected over time will have time-dependency in parameters. Therefore, such data can be analyzed using state space modeling by the application of Kalman filtering technique. In the present study, two procedures were compared for sugarcane yield modeling and forecasting in Haryana, India, to highlight the advantage of using state space procedure pertaining to model data from Indian agriculture.

We have next developed a statistical model of the ecosystem and determined the law of probability distribution of the macro-state of the ecosystem involving the expression of exergy of the ecosystem. On the basis of the probability distribution of macro-states, we have investigated the criteria of stability and instability consistent with Jorgensen's principle of increasing of exergy with evolution.

The dimensionless momentum equation coupled with the energy and mass diffusion equations are analytically solved using the closed analytical method. Expressions for velocity, temperature and concentration fields are obtained. Expressions for skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are obtained. Finally, the effects of pertinent parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are graphically and qualitatively discussed.

The length of scape and pedicel of fourth instar nymph and alate adult was maximum in B. helichrysi on peach and minimum in M. persicae on citrus. The length of processus terminalis was maximum in B. helichrysi followed by T. aurantii on citrus and M. persicae on peach. The ratio (PT/B) of fourth instar nymph was found to be maximum in Toxoptera spp. (4.09) followed by T. aurantii but it was maximum in alate adult of M. persicae.

The objective of this study is to determine the projectile motion of an Ml6 bullet. This investigation was done by monitoring the angle of projectile motion of Ml6 bullet with the increase in the range of shooting distances produced from simulation of data. When the shooters begin their live-fire exercise at a shorter distance, the result in angle of projectile produced was very small. As the range of shooting distances was increased, it was found out that the angle of projectile produced will definitely rise too. The exact segmental angle itself does not provide an accurate platform for shooting as there exists projectile motion of bullet which took part during the shooting process. Thus, this study will enable the shooter to find out whether the projectile motion of bullet does affect the shooting accuracy at the target as their posture were kept fixed at a stable position. This is important as it is one of the key to ensure the victory of a shooter in every shot during live-fire exercise.

Ultraspherical polynomials C^u_n(x) (Gegenbaur polynomials) are one of the most important families of orthogonal polynomials in mathematical chemistry, mathematical physics, probability theory, differential equations, combinatorics etc. One of the simplest ways to construct them is through their generating functions. In this paper, the generating functions for ultraspherical polynomials C_n^u(x) are obtained by using the Truesdell's method giving a suitable interpretation to the index n. Further, a pair of linearly independent differential recurrence relations are used in order to derive generating functions for C^u_n(x). The principal interest in our results lies in the fact that, how the Truesdell's method is utilized in an effective and suitable way to Gegenbaur polynomials in order to derive two generating functions independently from ascending and descending recurrence relations, respectively. The generating functions, in turn yield, the Legendre polynomials as special case for u = 1/2. The results are well known in the theory of special functions. This paper concerns on propagation of a wave group with three frequencies in hydrodynamic laboratory. It is motivated by the needs of hydrodynamic laboratory to generate extreme waves deterministically in a wave tank. Such waves will be used to test a floating body object before operated. To support this activity, a mathematical model is described that can be used to predict accurately and very efficiently the nonlinear evolution of wave which is generated by the wave maker motion. Using this model and a quantity called maximal temporal amplitude (MTA), in this paper we investigate the deformation, as well as nonlinear evolution, of wave which is initially in Benjamin-Feir signal form. This signal defines as a monochromatic signal is modulated by a long wave. MTA measures at each position downstream from the wave generator the maximum of the wave amplitude over time and how large of the wave at the position.

Possible modification or design alternatives are highlighted. Reliability and maintainability of an LHD system are disappointing. The inverse Weibull distribution is one of the widely applied distributions. In this paper, we are going to extend the study of the beta inverse Weibull distribution (BIW). The method of moment estimation (MME) procedure is implemented in the BIW distribution with three parameters. A comparison is made with the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) procedure using simulation. In computations, for both MME and MLE, the Newton-Raphson method is applied and the simulation results are given. Finally, practical use of the model is demonstrated by dint of an application to real data. For the real data computation, using the Fisher information matrix, the variance-covariance matrix is estimated for MLE. Also, bootstrap standard deviations are computed for both MME and MLE for the application data.

Statistical inference of a normal mean with known coefficient of variation has been investigated recently. This phenomenon occurs normally in environment and agriculture experiments when the scientist knows the coefficient of variation of their experiments. In this paper, we construct new confidence intervals for the normal population mean with known coefficient of variation. We also derive analytic expressions for the coverage probability and the expected length of each confidence interval. To confirm our theoretical results, Monte Carlo simulation will be used to assess the performance of these intervals based on their coverage probabilities and their expected lengths. A numerical example is also provided to illustrate the proposed confidence intervals.

Couette flows of Maxwell fluid due to motion of flat plate are analyzed under the wall slip boundary condition. For these flows, the relative velocity between the fluid layer at the wall and the wall is assumed to be proportional to shear rate at the wall. The motion of the bottom plate is rectilinear translation in its own plane with exponential velocity and cosine oscillation of the bottom plate. The Laplace transform technique is used to obtain exact solutions for the velocity and shear stress. The results are compared with Maxwell noslip and Newtonian fluid for slip and noslip condition. For translation with exponential velocity, velocity field increases with time and after attaining maximum value it decreases to zero for large time. For translation with cosine oscillation, velocity field for Maxwell fluid is sum of permanent and transient solution. The transient solution is found to be significant for small value of time and for large time fluid flow according to permanent solution.

Hematopoiesis is the process by which red and white blood cells and platelets are produced and regulated in the blood stream. The process is complex, with the hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) responding to a wide variety of cytokines and growth factors. In this paper, we study a model consisting of a system of five age-structured, time-delay ordinary differential equations for proliferating and nonproliferating HSC populations, type I and type II growth factors, and an exponential delay factor. The model, which is, adapted from a model of Adimy and Crauste [4], includes three time-delays: τ for mitosis of nonproliferating cells, T₁ for activation of type I growth factors and T₂ for activation of type II growth factors. It is proved analytically that the system has two equilibrium states, a trivial equilibrium (zero HSC populations) and a nontrivial equilibrium (nonzero nonproliferating HSC population), and that Andronov-Hopf bifurcations can occur from the nontrivial equilibrium to limit cycles at critical values of T₁. It is shown by numerical simulations that the dynamical behavior of the model is extremely complicated as at least five different types of asymptotic behavior can occur, namely, trivial and nontrivial equilibrium states, limit cycles with one local maximum and minimum per cycle, limit cycles with more than one local maximum and minimum per cycle, and chaotic-type behavior. The transitions between the different types of asymptotic behavior are sharp bifurcations which occur at critical values of the time-delays.

The Generalized Poisson Distribution (GPD) adds an extra parameter to the usual poisson distribution. This parameter induces a loss of homogeneity in the Stochastic processes modeled by the distribution. Thus, the generalized distribution becomes a useful model for counting processes. In application part by using Generalized Poisson Distribution (GPD) the likelihood functions for inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-4, IL-6), and chemokines (VEGF, MCP-1, MIP-lα, MIP-1β, IP-10) are obtained. These functions show a clear picture for all the above eight parameters when LPS + Oxytocin is administered to the inflammatory cases and compared with the medical conclusion.
